Battle at Wan Castle II – Dong Zhuo’s Forces vs Allied Forces

Played By: Lu Bu

Dong Zhuo’s Side

This stage has similar conditions to Cao Cao’s battle at Wan Castle, except now you have to also kill Liu Bei, in addition to Zhang Xiu. Enemies will start right near Dong Zhuo, so get to him fast if you’re not already near him. He’ll be getting attacked by one of the enemy units, and only Diao Chan is there to back him up. Once you’ve disposed of Hu Che Er, who is the first enemy attacking Dong Zhuo, you’ll have a bit of breathing room. From here, you can go on to waste any of the enemies you want, although it is recommended to go to the bottom left and defeat Zhang Xiu first, since he’s not that dangerous. Along the way, Dong Zhuo might get into trouble again, so you’ll probably have to protect him, especially if he runs into Zhao Yun, who can be a tough foe. Then you can go up to the top and defeat Liu Bei, unless you want the power ups that you’d gain from beating any foes that are left, which may include Guan Yu and Zhang Fei. Liu Bei has a lot of stamina, and he may give you a tough fight, so watch out for him.

Battle at Guan Du II – Dong Zhuo’s Forces vs Cao Cao’s Forces OR Yuan Shao’s Forces vs Cao Cao’s Forces

Played By: Lu Bu, Yuan Shao, Diao Chan, Dong Zhuo

Dong Zhuo’s Side

Dong Zhuo is hiding in one of the outposts (assumed to be the supply depots in the original Guan Du Stage). The objective is to trick the enemy into thinking Dong Zhuo is in the castle (where Cao Cao hung out before) and to keep the enemy from reaching the castle. If you’re not playing as Lu Bu on this stage, there will be a couple of cutscenes (non-interactive story sequences) showing him defeating enemies. This will automatically eliminate Cao Ren. Xu Zhu will be attempting to enter the castle; other formidable foes include Zhang He and Xiahou Dun. Fight through the enemies until you reach the front gate. After a little while, archer towers will appear in front of the castle gate. The fighters in front of the gate won’t be able to hold out for long, so try to reach them as soon as you can. Xu Huang will also join the fight on Cao Cao’s side. There will be quite a few enemy archers around the front gate of the castle. Once you’ve cleared out the enemies around the castle, you can make your way up to fight Cao Cao, defeating any enemy general that gets in your path. Cao Cao has a lot of backup in his area, but he can be defeated. It is speculated that if the enemies enter the castle, Dong Zhuo will appear in one of the forts and become susceptible to being killed, resulting in a loss for your side. If you’re using Dong Zhuo, this battle plays out the same, but the enemies will still think you’re in the castle, even though you’re fighting on the battlefield.

Yuan Shao’s Side

You’ll begin the stage right near Cao Cao’s castle. Fight your way through the enemies and make your way in. Along the way, several cutscenes will occur. One will show the archer towers appearing for your side. The second will show the wall crumbling down, which according to Yuan Shao’s comments, is a trick by Cao Cao. Finally, Wen Chou will be ambushed by the enemy. If his morale is high enough, this shouldn’t be a problem. Once you defeat all of the enemies and enter Cao Cao’s domain, you’ll find out he’s not there. He’s hiding in one of the forts on the outskirts of the map. This cutscene (a non-interactive cinematic the game plays automatically) will also make a special item report appear, so make sure you grab it. You’ll have to go to each of the forts and defeat the guard to get in (the guards include Xiahou Dun and others). Once you’ve found Cao Cao, defeat him to clear this stage.

Assault on Wu Territory II – Nanman Forces vs Allied Forces

Played By: Meng Huo

Nanman Side

The opposing forces will close the gates to start the battle, forcing you to head towards Lu Meng first. Defeat him, then head up to face Lu Xun and his archers. Defeating Lu Xun opens the northern gate, so you’ll have to backtrack to the start. Lu Xun leaves you a horse, which is helpful for the return trip. Once through the northern gate, Gan Ning will engage you. Defeat him and his subordinates, then grab your horse and head down to face Zhuge Liang. Along the way, Taishi Ci will appear with an ambush troop. Once Taishi Ci is defeated, head up to meet Zhuge Liang and approximately 20,000 archers. Defeating Zhuge Liang ends this stage.

Diao Chan’s Escape – Lu Bu’s Forces vs Diao Chan’s Forces

Played By: Lu Bu, Diao Chan

Lu Bu’s Side

This stage is very similar to playing Xiahou Dun’s side on Guan Yu’s escape. You’ll have to catch up to Diao Chan as she goes through five gates. Enemies will appear at each gate. The first gate will have a couple of minor enemies. The second gate will have Huang Gai and Gan Ning. If you have to fight these enemies, try to do it quickly, or run past them. The third gate will have Dian Wei and Xu Zhu. The fourth gate will feature Guan Yu and Zhang Fei. Diao Chan herself can take quite a few hits, and if you ran past some of the other enemies, they may meet up with you here, so be very careful.
