Master the art of combat in Dynasty Warriors 3: Complete Edition Remastered. Learn infinite combos, powerful Musou attacks, effective bodyguard strategies, and optimal character power-up methods.
Experiment with your character to find devastating combo attacks. Dizzy and juggling attacks are good for setting up or prolonging combos, while knockback attacks finish them off.
Infinite Combos:
- Requires a second weapon or higher to perform the High Juggling Move (SSSST).
- Must be a one-on-one fight in a large space, with no enemy soldiers attacking from behind.
- Perform the high juggling move (SSSST). The opponent will be smacked up. Do NOT press T again to complete the combo.
- As the opponent falls, perform the SSSST again. Repeat until the opponent is defeated.
Notes for Infinite Combos: Works better if your character is quick, has a long-range weapon (like a spear), and allies do not crowd the opponent. Later hits may not be as hard as initial attacks. Only works if the enemy cannot perform a speedy recovery in the air.
Musou Attacks:
The Musou attack is your super move, a powerful combo that can do a lot of damage. You are invincible while performing it. Tapping the O button once performs a standard Musou attack, while holding O prolongs the attack.
Team Musou Attack:
If playing two-player with full Musou bars, activating Musou attacks near each other results in a powerful Super Musou attack with the lightning element, dealing massive damage.
Bodyguards:
You can set your guards to use 5 different weapons and choose between attack or defend stances. As your rank rises, you gain more bodyguards, up to a maximum of 8. Early on, set guards with a bow (regular or crossbow) to defend to have them attack from a distance and survive longer. Later, with 4 guards, you can switch them to attack. With 6-8 elite guards, you can keep them as ranged bow soldiers or switch them to melee with a sword, spear, or pike. Spears are recommended for melee guards, as elite guards with good melee weapons can defeat lesser enemies and wear down officers.
Powering Up Characters:
It is highly recommended to spend time in Free Mode stages to power up characters before starting Musou mode.
- Guan Yu's Escape: Ideal for beginning characters due to Guan Yu's assistance and the presence of 10 generals for power-ups. Play a couple of times to obtain the second weapon, and potentially the third for an early-game advantage.
- Hu Lao Gate: Suitable for mid-range characters, offering many generals and gate guards for power-ups.
- Nanman Stage: Risky but high-reward. Many generals are present, and beating Meng Huo seven times yields significant power-ups.
- Fast Health Building (He Fei): Start in the middle, kill Zhang Liao, then head to Cao Cao's HQ. Go to the top-left corner for a Health +10. Kill Cao Cao, who is nearby. This can be done in 2-4 minutes per character.
- Fast Health Building (You Ting): Skip through the middle, grab a Musou in Cao Xiu's fort, then grab a Health Up farther up. Kill Sima Yi.
