Complete Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles Part 48 walkthrough, including how to defeat the Cave Worm boss and find all treasure chests.

Walkthrough
  1. 1
Locate and hit two purple switches simultaneously to open a gate. In multiplayer mode, three switches must be hit. Use focus attacks (a special charged attack) to hit multiple switches at once.
  2. 2
Proceed through the opened gate and defeat the enemies.
  3. 3
Go west and defeat the Blazer Beetle.
  4. 4
Go north and climb the stairs on your left.
  5. 5
    Open the chest.
  6. 6
    Continue north, following the path.
  7. 7
Use the focus attack technique when you reach the purple switches again to open the gate.
  8. 8
Head through the gate, defeating enemies as you go.
  9. 9
Kill the two Blazer Beetles near the end and enter the next area.
  10. 10
Go north. At a split, head left.
  11. 11
Continue going left and then north for a significant distance. Defeat all encountered enemies to avoid being trapped.
  12. 12
When you can no longer go north, head east to find a treasure chest. Open it.
  13. 13
Backtrack to the split where you took the left path.
  14. 14
Take the right path and head east until you find a treasure chest.
  15. 15
Backtrack slightly and then head south to enter the next area.
  16. 16
Head south, defeating enemies, and continue past the area with the elevator.
  17. 17

  18. 18
Defeat the enemies and open the two treasure chests.
  19. 19
    Go back down the stairs.
  20. 20
To your right is an elevator. Have both you and Mog (an NPC (non-player character — anyone the game controls, not you) companion) climb on; it will lower.
  21. 21
Go north and defeat the Gigas.
  22. 22
Climb the small slope on your left to reach a treasure chest.
  23. 23
Return to the elevator and head up to the upper floor.
  24. 24
Go north, then east to find another elevator. Ride it down.
  25. 25
Go north, then west. Defeat the Lizard Captain and Lizardman.
  26. 26
Open the treasure chest for an artifact.
  27. 27
Return to the elevator and take it up to the upper floor.
  28. 28
Head east for a long distance, then north, and then east again to find the third and final elevator. Take it down.
  29. 29
Go north, defeat the enemies, and open the chest.
  30. 30
    Take the elevator back up.
  31. 31
Return to the first elevator and take it down. Head south, then east until you enter the next area.
  32. 32
Go north, being wary of blue holes.
  33. 33
Go north and east, then climb the small stairs.
  34. 34
Go north, fighting Sahagins, and climb the next small set of stairs.
  35. 35
Go north, taking the only available path.
  36. 36
Continue north, hugging the right wall.
  37. 37
Continue hugging the wall as it turns east, leading to a closed area with a treasure chest and enemies. Open the chest.
  38. 38
Go down, hugging the left wall.
  39. 39
You will reach purple switches. Hit them to open the gate.
  40. 40
Check your health and proceed through the gate to face the Cave Worm.

BOSS: Cave Worm

Walkthrough
  1. 1
The Cave Worm is a difficult boss with attacks that can deplete three or four hearts at once. Electric jellyfish also appear in the arena.
  2. 2
The Cave Worm's attacks are limited in range, allowing you to heal safely at the back of the arena, but avoiding attacks is difficult.
  3. 3
Sand Spray Attack: The most common attack. The Cave Worm sprays sand, dealing about three hearts of damage. Get to the side to avoid it when the flaps in front of its mouth move.
  4. 4
Inhaling Attack: This attack does not cause damage. You will be sucked forward. Rush toward the Cave Worm when it inhales, charge a focus attack, and slash.
  5. 5
Swipe Attack: Occurs when you get too close. It swipes at you, taking away three hearts.
  6. 6
Bubble Attack: The Cave Worm shoots a huge blue bubble that casts Slow if it hits you. This happens quickly, so keep moving. The flaps in front of its mouth disappear before this attack.
  7. 7
Ground Slam Attack: Occurs when the Cave Worm's HP is low. It jumps up and slams down, releasing a shockwave that deals about five hearts of damage if you are hit.
  8. 8
Resistances: The Cave Worm resists Blizzard, Slow, and Stop. Fire, Thunder, and Gravity spells do not do much damage. Holy magic does the most magic damage but is not very effective. Magic is not recommended.
  9. 9
Strategy: Use Focus Attacks non-stop. Keep charging and performing Focus Attacks to deplete the Cave Worm's health. Retreat to cure yourself when low on hearts.
  10. 10
Whenever Electric Jellyfish appear, kill them immediately to avoid dealing with them and the Cave Worm simultaneously. Note that using your main weapon on the jellyfish will cause you to lose HP.

CYCLES TWO AND THREE

Walkthrough
  1. 1
On the second cycle, the Cave Worm gains points in attack and defense, dealing more damage and taking longer to kill.
  2. 2
On the third cycle, its attack and defense increase further. Ensure you have high health and a strong weapon.
Tips
  • Focus attacks are crucial for dealing damage to the Cave Worm and hitting multiple switches simultaneously.
  • Always be aware of your surroundings and the minimap (a small map usually displayed on the HUD (heads-up display — the on-screen icons showing health, ammo and the minimap), showing your immediate surroundings and nearby objectives) to navigate effectively.
  • Prioritize healing when your health is low, especially during the Cave Worm fight.
  • The electric jellyfish are a nuisance; eliminate them quickly if they appear during the Cave Worm battle.
  • For the Cave Worm's sand spray attack, positioning yourself to the side is key to avoidance.
  • Be prepared for increased difficulty in Cycles Two and Three, as the Cave Worm becomes stronger.
