Place the chalice on one of the two circular switches.

Ensure you have full health.

Run into the miasma (a hazardous area) to step on the second switch.

Wait until both switches glow red; the laser blocking your path will disappear.

Proceed through the now-open path.

Grab the item from the first treasure chest.

Defeat the Mimic found in the second treasure chest.

Ignore the stairs to the left, as they only lead to a Nightmare and a Skeleton, unless you want their items.

Head west and then south, following the path.

Defeat the Gargoyle that appears.

Head north into the next area.

You will encounter Magic Switches. To open the locked doors around them, hit the switch with a specific type of magicite (a magical item) and then run forward and slash it with your weapon.

Red switches require Fire magicite, blue switches require Blizzard magicite, purple switches require Thunder magicite, and clear switches allow any type of magicite.

The first switch you see is blue. Before activating it, run left to find a treasure chest.

Kill the Gargoyle to the left of the blue switch.

Go through the door you just opened and defeat the enemy inside.

Cast Fire magicite on the blue switch and then slash it with your weapon to open the next door.

In the subsequent area, defeat the Wraith, Skeleton, and Cerberus.

Open the chest in this area.

Assess how many other players are with you. If playing with two, three, or four players, the next puzzle is easier.

The door ahead is blocked by a Blizzard and Fire switch that must be hit simultaneously. You then need to run forward and slash both quickly.

Drop the chalice so both switches are within its protective force field, positioning it closer to the fire switch.

Locate a Gargoyle on the other side of the area. Position yourself so it can hit you.

Allow the Gargoyle to hit you until Mog (an NPC (non-player character — anyone the game controls, not you)) says, "Hang in there, kupo!" This indicates he is about to cast a spell.

Move between the two switches.

Switch to Fire or Blizzard magicite. If you have Fire, target the Blizzard switch. If you have Blizzard, target the Fire switch. Do not release the spell power yet.

Mog will charge up a spell and place it over your cursor. Wait for Mog to cast his spell.

If Mog casts Fire or Blizzard on the correct switch, quickly move your cursor to the opposite switch and cast your spell.

Switch to your regular weapon and rush to the first switch, slashing it, then do the same to the second switch. The barrier should disappear.

Heal yourself, defeat the Gargoyle, and proceed past the barrier.

Defeat all enemies in the new area and open the chest.

You will find a laser with a switch on the other side. Cast any type of magicite on this switch to lower the barrier.

Head through and defeat the Gargoyle and Skeleton.

Proceed to find a Wraith and four treasure chests.

Three of the chests are Mimics. Defeat them all.

Open the final chest to find a scroll for either Diamond Armor, Holy Armor, Holy Shield, Pure Armor, or a Pure Belt.

Return to the area with Hell's Puzzle.

To the left, you'll find a Thunder switch. Use Thunder magicite to open the door.

Defeat the Cerberus, but do NOT defeat the Skeleton Mage. If you accidentally defeat it, exit and re-enter the area (not the dungeon) for it to reappear.

Stand on the Thunder switch and let the Skeleton Mage strike you with a thunder spell. Taking thunder damage while on the switch will open the door.

Go north, east, and south, then up the stairs to find four more switches and another Skeleton Mage.

This Mage can cast all three types of magic. Take damage from all spells while standing on the switches. When you have taken sufficient damage for each switch, the door will open.

You will see a treasure chest in a closed-off area. Go through a hole in the north part of this area to grab the item in the chest.

Head out and go south to find two magic switches.

Take Fire damage on the right switch and Blizzard damage on the left switch to open the door.

Do NOT go through the door you just opened. Instead, head north through the door opened by the four switches.

Defeat the two skeletons.

You will find an area with two switches. Step on the switch on your left; this will lower a wall.

Get on the lowered wall and step on the right switch; the wall will rise.

Step on the right switch on the next section of the wall to lower another section.

On this new section, drop the Chalice and place it on the right switch.

Quickly return to the previous section of the wall and step on the right switch.

Immediately step on the left switch on the first section of the wall.

When on the ground, head around to the right and get on the section of the wall before it rises again.

Once you are on the rising wall, ensure you are fully healed.

Head out into the miasma to find a key.

Push the key into the designated area.
