Explore the diverse races (Clavats, Lilties, Yukes, Selkies) and their stats, the eight-year cycle of dungeons, and the essential Action Menu in Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles.

This section of the guide covers key aspects of Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles, including the playable races, the game's time progression, and the Action Menu.

The Races

There are four distinct races in Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles: Clavats, Lilties, Yukes, and Selkies. You choose your race at the beginning of the game, which impacts your character's strengths and weaknesses.

Clavats

Clavats have well-balanced stats. They possess moderate HP and Strength, good Defense, and a strong Magic stat.

Lilties

Lilties excel in HP, Strength, and Defense. Their Magic stat is decent but lower than other tribes. They are a good choice for players who prefer physical combat.

Yukes

Yukes are the best at casting magic, with powerful spells that have a short charge-up time. However, they have the lowest Strength and Defense, making them more challenging for players not adept at dodging.

Selkies

Selkies have balanced stats and a notable focus attack with a shorter charge-up time than other races, allowing for quicker powerful attacks. They are recommended for players who utilize focus attacks.

The Years

The game is divided into an eight-year period. Each year requires players to complete three dungeons. After obtaining Myrrh from a dungeon, a two-year cooldown is required before Myrrh can be obtained from that same dungeon again. Dungeons without Myrrh can be entered without a year passing, allowing for artifact collection.

The Action Menu

The Action Menu is crucial for multiplayer and accessing various game functions, including switching spells, checking treasures, and using items. It contains nine options.

Command List

The Command List allows players to assign items and spells to their command menu. Initially, there are four slots, with Attack and Defend being permanent. Additional slots can be unlocked as players progress through dungeons.

Items

Items can be used to cure status effects or heal HP. The item list displays descriptions and allows for using, dropping, or destroying items.

Equip

The Equip option has four slots: two for weapon and armor, and two for other equipment. Choosing the strongest available equipment is recommended for success.

Artifacts

Artifacts collected after completing dungeons are viewed here. This section shows the effects of collected artifacts and lists any missing ones.

Treasures

Artifacts found within dungeons are temporarily stored here. They vanish upon clearing the dungeon, with one chosen artifact moving to the Artifacts section. Artifact effects only apply during a dungeon.

Money

This option simply displays the amount of gil (in-game currency) the player possesses. Gil can be dropped here, primarily for trading with other players.

Favorites

The Favorites menu shows preferred and disliked foods. Eating food heals HP and provides a temporary stat boost for a dungeon. The effectiveness of the boost depends on whether the food is liked or disliked.
