Guide to solving the plague in Merhojed in Kingdom Come: Deliverance. Learn how to investigate, brew the remedy, and deal with the captive bandit.
Walkthrough
- 1Begin in a room in Pirkstein given by Sir Hanush. Repair equipment, bathe, and launder clothes if needed.
- 2Go to the hall in the Upper Castle of Rattay.
- 3A cutscene will play where Captain Bernard reports an attack on Merhojed and the capture of one attacker.
- 4Your task is to go to Merhojed and question the captive. Optionally, find Matthias, Henry’s friend from Skalitz, who works in the stables.
- 5Upon arriving in Merhojed, go to the stables and find Matthias wounded on the floor.
- 6Question Matthias to learn about the bandit attack and a plague affecting the village.
- 7Find Melichar, the local Bailiff, wandering the streets, and ask about seeing the captive bandit.
- 8Melichar will reveal that the captive bandit also has the plague. You must ask for help at the monastery.
- 9Before going to the monastery, investigate the extent of the plague in Merhojed by visiting houses with white crosses on their doors.
- 10Start your investigation at the house west of the stables, where Bedrishka lives. Help her bury her husband, Anthony, to learn about his symptoms.
- 11Dig a grave in Bedrishka’s back garden, then carry Anthony to it and speak with Bedrishka about his symptoms.
- 12Visit the house southeast of Bedrishka’s, by the Grocer, to find Daniel. Convince him you are his brother to confirm his delirious state.
- 13Visit the house directly south of the stables, where Old Straw lives. Convince him you want to help his wife and inspect her in the room opposite.
- 14Visit the last affected house on the eastern edge of the village, where Vincent lives. He and his wife have symptoms similar to Melichar’s and Old Straw’s wives.
- 15If you can read and write, you can pick up the side quest ‘Last Will and Testament’ from Vincent, which leads to Sasau.
- 16After investigating all affected houses, go to Sasau Monastery to enlist help.
- 17Find and speak with Johanka at the monastery.
- 18Johanka will refer you to Brother Nicodemus for advice on treating the plague.
- 19Speak with Brother Nicodemus and answer his questions: “About half the houses” regarding the plague's spread, and “All the animals died” regarding its effect on animals.
- 20Join Brother Nicodemus in searching books for the diagnosis and cure. Read the book on the pedestal by the entrance.
- 21Tell Brother Nicodemus that the diagnosis is poisoning from water.
- 22If your alchemy skill is high enough, you can prepare the cure yourself using Nicodemus's equipment and stores. The recipe requires 2 Thistle, 1 Charcoal, and 1 Valerian. Follow the instructions in the book carefully.
- 23Once the remedy is brewed, take it to Merhojed immediately.
- 24Speak to Brother Nicodemus, who will be in Old Straw’s house.
- 25Nicodemus will give you a share of the remedy to cure the sick. Ensure you visit each affected house before speaking to Melichar.
- 26After giving the remedy to the villagers, speak with Melichar and ask for permission to see the captive bandit.
- 27Go to the shed, open it, and inspect the bandit. Use the time dial to wait for the remedy to work.
- 28After questioning the bandit, you will need to deal with an angry Old Straw. Use your persuasion skills to diffuse the situation and decide the bandit's fate.
Tips
- Repairing equipment, bathing, and laundering clothes at the start can be beneficial.
