Follow our guide for Kingdom Come: Deliverance's 'The Die is Cast' quest. Learn how to infiltrate Vranik, retrieve your gear, and escape to Zbyshek.
Walkthrough
- 1Go to the swamp northeast of Sasau Monastery to meet the bandits. Keep to the east side of the river.
- 2Light a fire as a signal to the bandits.
- 3After a cutscene, the bandits will appear and ask for proof of Pious's death. You can either pay them a large sum of your own money (claiming it belonged to Pious) or kill them and loot a strange die from their corpses.
- 4If you paid, the bandits will tell you where their camp is and how to access it freely. If you killed them, the die will grant you access.
- 5Ask around Sasau for clues about the bandit camp's location. The Sasau Bailiff will mention lights seen at Vranik, an abandoned fort south of Sasau.
- 6Report back to Sir Radzig and Sir Hanush about your progress. They will ask you to scout Vranik.
- 7Prepare for Vranik by bringing your best armour and weapons, as many bandits roam the surrounding woods. Complete any available side quests before entering Vranik, as some may become unavailable.
- 8When asked for the password at Vranik's entrance, show the guard the special die you found.
- 9Infiltrate Vranik and scout the camp. Note the size and quantity of tents on the eastern side and look for vulnerabilities in the defences.
- 10Explore thoroughly until the scout objective updates.
- 11Speak with Erik, the camp leader.
- 12Erik will instruct you to see Combat Master Vanyek in the southeast of the camp.
- 13When speaking to Vanyek, you can answer whether he knows you from somewhere; the answer does not affect the outcome.
- 14Spar with Vanyek to prove your skill.
- 15Return to Erik. A cutscene will play where you meet Istvan Toth, who has Sir Radzig’s sword. Istvan reveals Henry's true father is Sir Radzig and intends to ransom him.
- 16After the cutscene, you will be woken by Zbyshek. Speak with him and accept his help. If you want your equipment back, find lock picks.
- 17Stealthily make your way to a large shed. Keep an eye on guard patrols, stay crouched, and move only when unseen.
- 18When the guard leaves his post, quickly enter the shed.
- 19Inside the shed, turn left and then northeast through the darkness until you find a chest (look for the 'rob' icon).
- 20Take the lockpicks from the chest and return to the shed exit. Wait for the guard to leave if he is present.
- 21Go to the room where you first met Erik. Unlock the door and close it behind you.
- 22Find Erik’s trunk keys beneath a barrel of ale.
- 23Open the chest beside the table to retrieve your belongings.
- 24Equip light, dark clothing for stealth, or heavier armour for protection if running.
- 25Escape Vranik by stealth killing guards, using your bow, or running through the camp before they react. Aim for the broken wall in the palisade where bandits dispose of waste.
- 26Jump over the wall.
- 27Run to Zbyshek, who is waiting by the river to the east. Avoid using a torch near the fort to remain undetected. Use a torch once far enough away to avoid falling down cliffs.
- 28Meet with Zbyshek. You can choose to go through with the deal or betray him. If you don't go through with the deal, he will fight you, which can be difficult if you didn't retrieve your equipment.
- 29If you go through with the deal, you will have the option to betray Zbyshek to Sir Radzig later when you return to Rattay.
