Master Nine Sols' Factory: Beginner Tips & Walkthrough

This guide covers the Factory area in Nine Sols, detailing progression, enemy encounters, and item locations. It assumes you have completed earlier sections and are ready to face new challenges.

Walkthrough

From the Pavilion, head west to the Cortex Center. Use a charge attack on the guard to proceed.

After a cutscene in a control room, you'll find yourself in the same room. Head left to a Root Node, then left again to a gate. Hack the node with your fairy to open the way.

Proceed upwards using ropes and grapple points. Defeat the Yellow Hornet and collect the Treasure Chest on the right.

Head left and then down. Look for a breakable rock on the left to access a middle area. Defeat the rock monster with a charge attack and hack two ropes down to reach a chest on the right.

Continue down the normal path, using grapple points. At the bottom, head right to drop a rope shortcut, then drop past a grapple point to find a big chest containing the Kunlun Immortal Portrait.

Head left into the "Factory (Great hall)". Be aware of trap floors with flame throwers underneath.

To the left, defeat soldiers and use two trap floors to reach an upper platform. Ride a platform further up to encounter the Flying Blade enemy; dodge its dive-bomb and counter-attack.

To the left of the Flying Blade encounter is a "CRAZY ROOM" with a giant laser. Wait for the laser to end, then quickly go south, defeat the archer, and head left to a machine that protects from the laser. Defeat the swordsman first.

From the laser room, go to the lower left for a Treasure Chest, then backtrack (watch for a turret).

On the next cycle, head to the upper left. Defeat the archer, pass the flame trap, and find a Root Node.

Heal at the Root Node, then head left to hack a chest for a Standard Component. Another laser room awaits.

Head left and hit the green device to protect yourself, then collect the Treasure Chest to your lower right. Drop down through the middle to reach the "Factory (Underground)".

Open the immediate Treasure Chest for the Swift Descent Jade.

Head right to exit back to the Factory and go left to unlock a door, creating a shortcut.

Return to the underground and head left. Hop over red spikes and choose the left/right path. Go right and down to face the "Red Tiger Elite" mini-boss. Defeat him for a Standard Component and hack the console.

Head right to an area with spikes and a mechanical unit. Continue down, defeating enemies, to the very bottom. Dash to a Shield Guardian and break it to unlock half of a hidden treasure.

Return to the middle level and go left, watching for falling spikes. Use ropes to go left, ignoring the elevator for now. Head left to a Root Node.

Use the Root Node to be transported back to your mentor, who will grant you the mid-air dash ability.

Use the mid-air dash to navigate the obstacle course.

Return to the broken machine (right and up) and air dash to it to get the Abandoned Mines Chip.

Continue right, defeat the Ninja, and stay on the upper path to find the Evacuation Notice for Miners.

Head right from the notice to find the "Abandoned Mines" area (note this for later exploration).

Go back and down (southeast) to a peculiar room where you can hide inside a container, leading to the "Apeman Facility (Depths)".

Navigate the "Apeman Facility (Depths)" to the right, through a cave area with red spikes. At the bottom, open a chest for money and the Fusang Amulet.

Continue right through a spike pit using your air dash. At the end, hack the rope and go down. Note the gap to the left but do not go there yet. Head right to a Root Node.

From the Root Node, go up the left rope and dash left between spikes to find the Celestial Spectre: Shanguai mini-boss.

Tips

Use charge attacks against shielded enemies.
The "CRAZY ROOM" laser trap can be survived with enough health, but it's better to find the protective machine.
The Flying Blade enemy can be countered by dodging its dive-bomb and attacking.
The Red Tiger Elite mini-boss is similar to previous encounters; focus on reaction time.
The Celestial Spectre: Shanguai fight is similar to Shuigui but tougher. Use Azure Sand on the left for an advantage. Be prepared for bombs and a dangerous crimson attack from above.
