Nine Sols is a Metroidvania, and thorough exploration is highly rewarded. The in-game map is excellent, indicating how many collectibles (e.g., Jade Stones, health upgrades) you've found in each area. Aim for 100% exploration in each zone before moving on, especially if you're pursuing the 'True Ending'.
