The Hook & Grapple are essential tools for navigating the world of Nine Sols. Mastering their use will open up new paths, help you reach hidden collectibles, and even provide advantages in combat.
Walkthrough
- 1From the Pavilion, head west to the 'Cortex Center' via the upper walkway. Use your charge attack on the guard to proceed.
- 2After a scripted scene in a control room, head left to find a Root Node.
- 3Continue left to a gate; send your fairy to hack a node.
- 4Head upwards, using ropes and grappling points. Stay on the right side to find a Treasure Chest at the top.
- 5Go left and then down. Look for a breakable rock on the rope to access a middle area.
- 6Defeat the rock monster below with a charge attack, then hack two ropes to reach a chest on the right.
- 7Continue down the normal path, using walls and grapple points. Drop a rope on the right for a shortcut, then drop past a grapple point to find a chest with the 'Kunlun Immortal Portrait'.
- 8Enter the 'Factory (Great hall)' to the left.
- 9Be cautious of trap floors with flame throwers underneath.
- 10Head left, jumping on two trap floors to reach an upper platform. Ride a platform up to encounter Flying Blades; dodge their dive-bombs and counter.
- 11To the left is a laser room. You can stand in the laser, but it's better to wait for it to end, then quickly go south, kill the archer, and go left to a machine that provides protection. Kill the swordsman first.
- 12From the protective machine, go to the lower left for a Treasure Chest, then return.
- 13On the next cycle, head to the upper left. Kill the archer, pass the flame trap, and find a Root Node.
- 14Hack a chest to the left for a 'Standard Component'.
- 15In the next laser room, hit the green device to your left for protection, then get the Treasure Chest to your lower right. Drop down through the middle to reach the 'Factory (Underground)'.
- 16Open the immediate Treasure Chest for the 'Swift Descent Jade'.
- 17Head right to exit back to the Factory and go left to unlock a door, creating a shortcut.
- 18Return to the underground and go left. After hopping red spikes, choose the right path down to find the 'Red Tiger Elite' mini-boss. Defeat him for a 'Standard Component' and hack the console.
- 19Head right to an area with spikes and a mechanical unit. Go down, killing enemies, and dash to a Shield Guardian to unlock half of a hidden treasure.
- 20Return to the middle level and go left, watching for falling spikes. Use ropes to go left, ignoring the elevator for now. Head left to a Root Node.
- 21Use the Root Node to be transported back to your mentor, who will grant you the mid-air dash ability.
- 22Use the mid-air dash to navigate the obstacle course.
- 23Return to the area with the broken machine (right and up) and air dash to get the 'Abandoned Mines Chip'.
- 24Continue right, killing a Ninja, and stay on the upper path to find the 'Evacuation Notice for Miners'.
- 25From here, heading right leads to the 'Abandoned Mines' area (note for later).
- 26Go back and down, heading southeast, to find a room where you can hide inside a container, leading to the 'Apeman Facility (Depths)'.
- 27Navigate the cave area with red spikes using your air dash. At the bottom, open a chest for money and the 'Fusang Amulet'.
- 28Continue right through a spike pit using your air dash. Hack the rope at the end and go down. Note the gap to the left but do not go there yet. Head right to find a Root Node.
- 29From the Root Node, go up the left rope and dash left between spikes to find the mini-boss, Celestial Specter: Shanguai.
Tips
- Utilize the charge attack against shielded enemies.
- The mid-air dash is crucial for navigating hazards and reaching new areas.
- In the laser rooms, prioritize finding the protective devices over trying to tank the damage.
- When fighting Shanguai, be aware of his bomb placements and crimson attacks. Use the Azure Sand strategically by shooting arrows to the right of it until needed.
