Guide to finding the three Wood Tiles in Part 102 of Nioh, then taking on the challenging Hino-Enma boss fight. Learn her moves and strategies!

Alright, let's dive into Part 102. When you first land, immediately turn around and go through the wall behind you. You'll find a chest there, and this also unlocks the door you need to proceed. To your left, there's a Fiend you can take down. He's guarding a corpse that holds the WOOD TILE: HA. Grab that!

Now, back on the main floor where we started, you'll see a Giant Skeleton and another chest on one side. On the other side, there's a Flying Bolt and a Skeleton Archer. You'll want to clear out this second side because it has a corpse containing the WOOD TILE: RO. Get that one next.

With those two secured, head up to the third floor. There's a Fiend running around up here, so deal with them. Keep an eye out for a trap floor near a corpse in the hallway – remember those! The rooms branching off the hallway are worth checking. One has two Skeleton Warriors and a corpse with the WOOD TILE: I. The other room at the end has two more Skeleton Warriors and another corpse. Make sure you snag that last tile!

Now that you've got all three Wood Tiles, head back down. Feel free to save your progress or level up if you need to. It's also a really good idea to equip your best charm or any items that boost your resistance to Paralysis. We're about to face an old enemy, and she can be quite the nuisance if you're not prepared.

I was pretty surprised when SHE showed up again, but it looks like this is the exact same fight we had before. So, let's get ready to take her down!

BOSS ENCOUNTER: HINO-ENMA

Okay, this is our third boss encounter. Hino Enma can be a real pain, especially if you're not ready for her speed. She hits hard, but her agility is what you'll notice first. Watch out for her 'Dash Attack' and 'Paralysis Wave' – they're both super quick and you'll need to either block them or dodge to the side (double-tap the X button and flick the left stick left or right). She also has a lot of fast combo attacks up close, so pay attention to her moveset. Definitely equip that 'Paralysis Charm' or use any Paralysis-resistance items you have!

One of the most effective strategies here is to have plenty of ranged ammo. While Hino doesn't have distinct forms, she does mix up her attacks and adds more ranged options as her health gets lower. Hitting her head when she's in the air can absolutely devastate her, knocking her back down into melee range and leaving her vulnerable for a bit. It's a really satisfying way to deal damage.

Overall, this is a pretty fun fight, and it's definitely easier with a co-op partner. Just be ready for those quick combos, her ranged attacks, her ability to paralyze you, and especially her grab attack. Once you learn her patterns, it becomes a much more manageable fight. Learning them is the tricky part!

BOSS MOVES:

  • Flying Charge: This is probably the first attack you'll see. Hino will leap into the air and charge straight at you. You need to be quick and dodge left or right. She'll land somewhere behind you, but you'll be safe. If she does hit you, it's not too damaging, but it will increase your paralysis meter a bit.
  • Paralysis Wave: This attack is similar to the charge, but Hino will shout (listen for the audio cue!) and send a visible sound wave directly at you. Again, dodge left or right. You can't really counter this, so your main goal is just to avoid it. If you get hit, you'll be paralyzed, leaving you extremely vulnerable. Equipping something to boost your paralysis resistance is key – getting hit once shouldn't automatically paralyze you!
  • Spin Attack: This is a nasty one. Hino will raise her wings, dash forward, and spin a couple of times, trying to crash into you, followed by a final hit. This attack can hit multiple times and is very fast, so guarding is your best bet. She also leaves a pool of Yokai Realm Mist where she finishes this attack. If you have enough Ki, you can get in one or two hits afterward, but then create some distance. Don't stay too close, or you'll be easy prey for her grab.
  • Leech Life: This is Hino's grab attack. (The source text cuts off here, but this is her grab move.)
