Complete Nioh Part 12 walkthrough covering collectibles and the Onryoki boss fight strategy. Find the last Healer Kodama.

Walkthrough
  1. 1
Find a corpse by the village wall.
  2. 2
Locate another corpse by a broken boat straight ahead.
  3. 3
Head past the broken boat and into the water to find an Oracle Kodama (a type of spirit).
  4. 4
Return and take the right path to a small cave containing a Revenant Grave (a grave of a defeated player character) and 3 corpses.
  5. 5
One of these corpses holds the Harakiri Sword, an item that returns you to the nearest shrine (checkpoint (an auto-save point you restart from on death)) but makes you lose all collected Amrita (currency/experience).
  6. 6
Return to the beach and defeat the enemies on the dock, then kill the patrolling enemy heading up a nearby slope. Do not go onto the dock yet.
  7. 7
Head past the dock into shallow water to find another corpse.
  8. 8
Go to the houses on the beach and kill the Samurai behind them.
  9. 9
Find a corpse near the Samurai.
  10. 10
Go around the right house to find a Grave in the back.
  11. 11
Head up the slope past the locked house door to find the Healer Kodama on the cliff; this is the last one for the level.
  12. 12
Pray and level up at the shrine. The guide author is Level 14 at this point.
  13. 13
Head down the slope and perform a drop attack on the Samurai below, and shoot the patrolling enemy with an arrow.
  14. 14
Re-kill the archer and raider by the docks.
  15. 15
Head for the ship to enter the boss arena.
Tips
  • The Harakiri Sword should ideally never be used, as it causes you to lose all Amrita.
  • If you are having trouble with the boss, stock up on Elixirs (you can carry eight) and use your bomb stock.
  • Consider leveling up more, checking your gear, or calling for help from another player (a ronin) at the shrine using an Ochoko Cup if you are struggling.

BOSS ENCOUNTER: ONRYOKI

Onryoki is the first challenging boss in Nioh. It has a lot of health and hits hard. Be prepared with a good supply of Elixirs and other helpful items like bombs, Onmyo Magic, or Ninjutsu.

Onryoki has two forms. The first form has him chained up. He primarily uses his chains to whip around. Be mindful of his 'Chain Twirl' attack, which has a 360-degree radius and hits hard. His 'Chain Slam' attacks can be dodged by reacting to his arm movements.

Once enough damage is dealt, the chains break, and Onryoki enters his second form. This form has more combo potential but is generally easier. He will frequently spawn Yokai Realm mist, which you should purify when possible, even if it means interrupting your attacks. Counter-attacking safely is possible, especially after his 'Belly Flop' attack. When Onryoki is at about 33% health, use your Living Weapon to finish him off.

BOSS MOVES:

  • Double-Chain Slam (First Form): Onryoki slams both ball and chains overhead when you get close. Dash to the side once or twice to evade and get in a quick hit or two. Watch out for the subsequent Chain Twirl.
  • Chain Twirl (First Form): Triggered by staying too close to Onryoki for too long, this attack involves him twirling his ball and chains around himself. It is extremely dangerous and can hit multiple times. Avoid being too greedy with attacks.
  • One-Two Chain Slam (First Form): Similar to the Double-Chain Slam, but Onryoki slams one chain after the other. React to the leading arm.
