Master the Umi-Bozu boss fight in Nioh Remastered. Learn its moves, weaknesses, and strategies to conquer this challenging encounter and make the seas safe again.
Walkthrough
- 1When the fight begins, you will spawn two Flan enemies. Quickly apply fire damage to your weapon and use 'Rejuvenate' if available. Defeat the two Flans; they will not respawn, making this worthwhile.
- 2Focus on Umi-Bozu's 'Slam' move. You can dash twice to the side to avoid it. When its squishy core is exposed after the slam, target it for maximum damage, especially with fire damage on your weapon.
- 3As always, familiarize yourself with the boss's moves below before engaging.
Tips
- Apply fire damage to your weapon to maximize damage against Umi-Bozu.
- Use the 'Rejuvenate' skill if you have it at the start of the fight.
- Dodge Umi-Bozu's 'Slam' attack twice to the side to expose its weak core.
- When Umi-Bozu is on the dock (second phase), guarding against its 'Tentacle Sweep' and 'Jump Attack' is often safer than dodging.
- The 'Slam Attack' in the second phase is your best opportunity for high damage; dodge to the side and attack its weak yellow center.
BOSS MOVES:
- Tentacle Slam: Umi-Bozu slams its arm down. Dodge to the side. Aim to get in front of its body for safety, then attack its body or arms.
- Water Shot: Umi-Bozu shoots a mass of water that does minor damage and inflicts the 'Water' status (reduces physical defense). It also creates Yokai Realm patches. Guard if you can't dodge.
- Flop Attack: Occurs after breaking off centipede body parts. Umi-Bozu rears up and flops down to squish you. Get behind it or keep away. Blocking is an option if you have enough Ki.
- Light Beam: Umi-Bozu moves its eyes to its mouth, then fires a stream of light. This is a virtually guaranteed one-hit kill attack. Dodge out of the way immediately.
- Tentacle Sweep (Phase 2): Umi-Bozu sweeps its tentacles across the dock. Guarding is recommended as it's fast and hard to dodge.
- Jump Attack (Phase 2): Umi-Bozu jumps and lands, trying to hit you. Back away or guard. Be careful not to back into the water.
- Slam Attack (Phase 2): Umi-Bozu slams its entire body down. Dodge to the side and target its weak yellow center for significant damage.
