Master Nioh's 'Part 86: Demon Hunting' mission. Get expert tips on defeating Spirits, Fiends, Wheelmonks, and the formidable Onryoki boss.

Alright, let's dive into Part 86 of Nioh. This one's called 'Demon Hunting,' and it's set in the Solitary Field back in May 1600. The gist is that the area's overrun with yokai, and Sir Anjin (that's you!) is being asked to clear them out. Before you head out, a quick tip from me: save all your magic and healing items for the end. Trust me, you'll want them for the final boss fight, which is definitely the toughest part.

You'll start at the Shrine, so make sure you're prepped. Head forward into the first area. You'll run into some Spirits and a sword yokai. Your best bet is to take out the Spirits first – they'll leave you alone, and charging your weapon against them can make the sword yokai easier. Once that's done, a Ninja yokai will join the fray. Use the trees around here for cover; they're perfect for setting up counterattacks after he finishes a combo.

Moving on to the next area, if you want a bit of an edge, I'd recommend equipping some Water Talismans. You're going to face two more waves of enemies. First up, it's a Sword Yokai and a Fire-Enchanted Fiend. Prioritize the Enchanted Fiend and just keep dancing around to dodge the Sword Yokai. After you've dealt with them, the next wave hits: a Water Spirit and two Wheelmonks. These guys can be a real pain, but again, focus on the Water Spirit first. Then, use the tree near the water to split up the Wheelmonks and take them down one by one. Those Water Talismans will really come in handy here if you need them.

Ahead, you'll find a large, watery area. If you're playing online, you'll probably see a bunch of graves scattered around – and there's a good reason for that.

BOSS ENCOUNTER: ONRYOKI

It's time for a rematch with Onryoki! This fight is pretty similar to his first appearance, but he's definitely beefed up and hits harder. The biggest new complication is that Water Spirits will occasionally float in. Make sure to destroy them whenever you can – they'll power up your weapon and let you deal more damage. With your current skills and any Ninjutsu or Onmyo Magic you've picked up, this fight should be manageable, but always try to stay near full health, just in case.

Onryoki has two main forms. The first is when he's still chained up. His main attacks involve whipping those massive chains around. Be especially careful when you get close, as this triggers his 'Chain Twirl' attack, which has a huge 360-degree radius and hits like a truck. It's probably his most dangerous move in this form. His 'Chain Slam' can be dodged fairly easily if you react quickly to his arm movements.

Once you deal enough damage, he'll break free from his chains. This second form has more combo potential, but honestly, I find him a bit easier this way. He'll summon Yokai Realm mist pretty frequently, so be sure to purify it whenever you get a chance, even if it means briefly stopping your attacks. Keep an eye on the attacks below, but generally, you can find safe windows to counter-attack, especially after his 'Belly Flop' move. When Onryoki's health drops to about 33%, unleash your Living Weapon and finish him off for good!
