How to Beat The Stone Golem

Defeat the Stone Golem in Pathways into Darkness. Master tactics for its Melee Slam and Rock Throw attacks and find its location in the Sunken City or Gauntlet.

Location:

Often found guarding the Ornate Key in the Sunken City or as the final challenge in the Gauntlet of Trials.

Phases & Attacks:

• Phase 1 (Melee Slam): The Golem slowly lumbers towards you, attempting to crush you with its massive fists. This attack is slow but deals heavy damage.
• Phase 2 (Rock Throw): If you maintain distance, the Golem will tear off chunks of its body and hurl them at you. These projectiles are slow but track your movement.

Weaknesses:

The Stone Golem is highly resistant to physical damage from firearms. Its primary weakness is explosive damage (Grenades) and magical damage, particularly the Lightning Bolt spell. The Flamethrower can also be surprisingly effective due to its continuous damage output.

Strategy:

Keep your distance. Circle strafe to avoid its melee slams. When it starts throwing rocks, continuously move to the sides. Unleash your Grenades and Lightning Bolt spells whenever you have an opening. If you have the Flamethrower, get close enough to hit it but stay mobile. Conserve your powerful ammunition for this fight. The Shield spell can be invaluable for mitigating damage if you get caught in a slam. After defeat, it often drops valuable ammunition or a unique key.
