Pathways into Darkness features various items that can be found and utilized to aid the player. These items fall into several categories, each with its own function and impact on gameplay.

• Weapons: Essential for combat, some weapons utilize different ammo types like HE and Sabot.
• Crystals: These items possess unique powers that charge over time and can be used multiple times, though they eventually shatter. The yellow crystal for communication with the dead is an exception, usable indefinitely.
• Potions: Consumable items that provide temporary effects, ranging from invincibility to time manipulation.
• Miscellaneous Items: Objects crucial for puzzle-solving, game mechanics, or holding other items, such as the red cloak, map, canvas bag, and tinderbox.
