The Elite Four and Champion have powered up their teams! Learn their weaknesses and strategies to take them down in Pokémon Black and White's post-game.

So you saved the world, but guess what? Technically you didn’t beat the Pokemon League, because you never fought the Champion. Even though beating N who beat the Champion clearly should have made you the Champion. But presumably the paperwork was too complicated, as they want you to do it all again.

Which… wouldn’t be a problem if the Elite Four hadn’t suddenly brought out their real teams, which are 20+ Levels higher than what they originally had. Needless to say, it’s going to be rough… and it might be wise to do some other postgame content before demanding a rematch, lest you want a beating.

South-East: Marshal the Fighting-type Expert

Marshal is ready for round two! He's brought out his best Fighting-types, but don't worry, we've got a plan.

PokemonLevelType
Breloom71Grass/Fighting
Toxicroak71Poison/Fighting
Throh71Fighting
Sawk71Fighting
Mienshao71Fighting
Conkeldurr73Fighting

Marshal's got Breloom, who's 4x weak to Flying, and Toxicroak, who's 4x weak to Psychic. If you've got strong Pokémon of those types ready to go, this fight should be a breeze. Just keep an eye out for Sawk's Sturdy ability; it can prevent a one-hit KO and make things a bit more annoying.

North-East: Caitlin the Psychic-type Expert

Next up is Caitlin, the Psychic-type specialist. She's got some new tricks up her sleeve this time around.

PokemonLevelType
Reuniclus71Psychic
Bronzong71Psychic/Steel
Sigilyph71Psychic/Flying
Musharna71Psychic
Gothitelle71Psychic
Metagross73Psychic/Steel

Caitlin's added Bronzong and Metagross to her team. These Steel-types aren't weak to Bug, Dark, or Ghost moves, but a good Fire or Ground-type Pokémon should handle them just fine. For her other Pokémon, stick with those types, but be careful with Bug moves against Sigilyph, as it resists them.

North-West: Grimsley the Dark-type Expert

Grimsley's here to test your mettle with his Dark-type Pokémon. He's got a few new challenges for you.

PokemonLevelType
Sharpedo71Water/Dark
Liepard71Dark
Scrafty71Dark/Fighting
Drapion71Poison/Dark
Krookodile71Ground/Dark
Bisharp73Dark/Steel

Grimsley's Sharpedo can hit hard, so lead with a fast Electric-type or a sturdy Grass-type to take it down quickly. His Drapion has an interesting type combo; Ground-type moves are your safest bet to ensure a win. His other Pokémon usually fall pretty easily to a strong Fighting-type attacker.

South-West: Shauntal the Ghost-type Expert

Prepare yourself for some spooky encounters with Shauntal's Ghost-type team!

PokemonLevelType
Cofagrigus71Ghost
Jellicent71Water/Ghost
Froslass71Ice/Ghost
Golurk71Ground/Ghost
Drifblim71Ghost/Flying
Chandelure73Ghost/Fire

Shauntal has brought Froslass, who's weak to Fire, Rock, and Steel, and Drifblim, who's weak to Electric, Rock, and Ice. Dark-type Pokémon are generally great against Ghosts, but you can also exploit their secondary types if that seems like a safer strategy.

Champion Alder

Finally, it's time to face the Champion, Alder! He's brought his A-game, so you'll need yours too.

PokemonLevelType
Accelgor75Bug
Bouffalant75Normal
Druddigon75Dragon
Vanilluxe75Ice
Escavalier75Bug/Steel
Volcarona77Bug/Fire

Alder's team is quite varied, so you'll need to mix and match your Pokémon to get the best advantage. His Bouffalant is tough against most types except Ghost and Fighting. His Volcarona, which you might remember from Relic Castle, is especially dangerous. Rock-type moves will do 4x damage to it, so make sure you have a strong Pokémon with those attacks ready!
