Stand on the floor switch to open a door.
  4. 4
Head right and fight the Clown (Trainer Battle 1): Sewaddle (Level 20, Bug/Grass), Venipede (Level 20, Bug/Poison).
  5. 5
The switch opened a door. Head right, stand on the switch, and walk through the revealed honey door.
  6. 6
The switch in front of you triggers Trainer Battle 2: Sewaddle (Level 20, Bug/Grass), Dwebble (Level 20, Bug/Rock).
  7. 7
Hit the switch in the right alcove, then head left and hit the switch there. A honey door will open to your right; go through it.

  9. 9
Head left and up. The switch here triggers Trainer Battle 3: Sewaddle (Level 21, Bug/Grass).
  10. 10
Push through the next honey door and hit the button here to open a gate back from where you came.

  13. 13
Run through and up the stairs to fight Gym Leader Burgh.

Gym Leader Burgh:

  1. Whirlipede (Level 21, Bug/Poison)
  2. Dwebble (Level 21, Bug/Rock)
  3. Leavanny (Level 23, Bug/Grass)

Strategy: Use Fire and Flying-type attacks. Beating Burgh earns you the third badge and TM76 Struggle Bug.

Tips
  • Bug types are weak to Fire and Flying attacks.
  • If you chose Tepig or Pansear, you have a type advantage.
  • Consider catching a Pidove from any of the routes as it is a Flying-type and will be invaluable in this gym.
  • Wild Pokémon in Route 4 (north of Castelia City) are around Level 15 if you need to train.
