Beat Elesa's Electric-type Pokémon in Pokémon B/W. Use Ground-types and get TM72 Volt Switch.
Walkthrough
- 1Head to the Nimbasa City Gym, themed like a theme park's Space Mountain. Electric Pokémon are weak to Ground-types. Grass types may struggle due to Emolga's presence.
- 2If you need a Ground-type, return to Wellspring Cave on Route 3 for Drilbur or Route 4 for Sandile. These Pokémon take no damage from Electric attacks.
- 3Grab a Fresh Water from the guide. Proceed forward and enter the first car on the track. Exit at the first stop.
- 4Head around to your first trainer battle: 2x Emolga (Level 24, Electric/Flying).
- 5There are no trick switches. Step on them as desired.
- 6Hit the nearby button to change the rollercoaster's course. Get back in the car where you exited and disembark at the first stop.
- 7Run left and up to find your next trainer battle: 1x Blitzle (Level 25, Electric).
- 8After the battle, head up and hit the green switch. Enter the coaster at the next stop to be attacked by 2x Blitzle (Level 24, Electric).
- 9After this fight, enter the coaster and enjoy the drop. Exit at the stop and jump on the orange switch.
- 10Enter the next coaster to face your next opponent: 1x Emolga (Level 25, Electric/Flying).
- 11After defeating this Emolga, hop into the coaster and ride the final track to face Gym Leader Elesa.
- 12Gym Leader Elesa's Pokémon: 2x Emolga (Level 25, Electric/Flying), 1x Zebstrika (Level 27, Electric).
- 13Elesa's Emolga can use Aerial Ace against Grass or Fighting types. Her Pokémon can use Volt Switch to switch out, potentially disrupting your strategy. A strong Ground-type Pokémon is highly recommended.
- The fourth badge.
- TM72 Volt Switch.
Tips
- If you don't have a Ground-type, consider training a Pokémon that can learn Ground-type moves.
- Be mindful that Emolga is part Flying-type, so Ground-type moves will not affect it. Use non-Ground moves against Emolga.
- If you need to train, head back to Route 4 or proceed to Route 5 or Route 16 for stronger opponents.
