[9-29] E4M5: Hell's Atrium

You'll start off in a maze filled with Zombies. Keep an eye out, because up on a higher level, a Hell Knight will be shooting at you. If you've been hitting all the switches (which you should be!), you'll find an elevator nearby that takes you right up to where that Hell Knight is. Once you're up there, jump into the green slime to grab the Pentagram of Protection. This is a huge help for surviving the tougher parts.

Now, from the Hell Knight's spot in Secret #1, you'll see some ledges. We need to cross those to get to another secret. First, run to the left and jump over the gap. Then, turn right. You'll see a wall ahead. Hug the left side of this wall, don't turn, just keep moving alongside it. After that, turn left and jump over another gap to reach the secret area. This path actually leads to an opening you'll see later in a room with wooden arches. You can jump on those arches for even more goodies.

Next up, we're heading for a secret behind a gold door. Inside that room, step on the floorplate in the center. This will activate an elevator. Ride it up, and then shoot the red sun symbol. This will cause a section of the floor in front of you to rise. Jump across this to get to another secret room.

Finally, we're at the end of the level. You'll need the silver key to lower a bridge that crosses a lava pit to the exit. Now, here's a crucial tip: DON'T activate the bridge. Instead, carefully jump across the lava using the small sticks sticking out of it. This is tricky – save your game right before you attempt this! I've only managed to do it successfully once myself. Once you've made it across safely, turn left. You'll see a massive door that requires the silver key. Make sure you brought it with you! Opening this door will take you to the Secret Level E4M8.
