2. Shopping Area

Navigate the Shopping Area in Risk of Rain Returns! Learn what to buy, where to find essential tools like the Mine Detector and Barrier Seal, and gear up for your next adventure.

Alright, so you've made it to the Shopping Area. Quick heads-up: you can't bring your tanks in here, so we're on foot for this part. Don't expect any loot just lying around on the ground floor, but it's a good spot to gather some intel on this guy Caesar and, more importantly, grab some new gear. This is where we start kitting ourselves out properly.

First things first, hit up the tools shop and snag the Mine Detector. Seriously, don't skip this. Also, head to the Equipment shop and pick up a Barrier Seal. This thing adds an extra layer of protection to your armor, which is super clutch. Grab one for yourself and maybe a spare or two, because when they break, you'll need to replace them. Equip them right away!

As for weapons, the SMG Uzi is a solid choice if you need an upgrade, and some better body armor wouldn't hurt either. Now, I know I mentioned Red Peony's Dagger earlier, but you won't have met your third party member yet, so that's a bit down the line. A pro-tip though: if you've got the Mine Detector, you can head back to the Hidden Village and use it to find two free Uzis. That's a nice little bonus!

Head upstairs. This is basically the personal villa of Lord Scissor, who's now calling himself Caesar. You'll find a girl to the right of Caesar who lets you 'fence' tools and equipment – basically, a place to trade or sell stuff. Caesar himself is mostly just bragging, and you can chat with his henchmen too, but the real action is in the shops.

There's another floor above that you can explore, but honestly, there's nothing to find up there. You can mess around and practice falling off edges if you want, but it's not going to get you any useful items or information. Stick to the shops and gearing up for now.
