    Head to Old Man Ulie's House, located by itself a short drive south-west of Pobre Obre.

    Inside the first room, collect the Fire Extinguisher from the stove and the Healing Drink from the fridge.

    Proceed to the back of the house where a tent is located. Enter the tent.

    Before speaking to Ulie, open the chest inside the tent to find the DD Pineapple.

    "Random Name" will emerge and ask to join your party as a Mechanic. Accept his offer.

    Get into your tank. The Mechanic will follow on foot. His starting equipment includes a Baseball Bat and Denim Overalls, and he possesses a Repair Kit. He begins at level one.

    To have the Mechanic operate a tank, return to Pobre Obre and rent a tank. Position yourself over the tank, select "Party", then under the Mechanic's name, select "Tank" to have him enter it.
Tips
  • If you refuse to let the Mechanic join or claim the tank is not yours, he will continue to drive it. To avoid recruiting him, stay away from Ulie's House after collecting the kitchen items.
  • You can transfer items and equipment between tanks by selecting "Tanks", then "Parts", choosing the part type, and then dropping, transferring, or installing.
  • To give items to the Mechanic to equip, use the "Trade" command. Items exceeding the Hunter's inventory limits (over 12 items or 8 equipment pieces) will automatically be given to the Mechanic.
  • If the Mechanic dies, you can bring his body back to Ulie's House or the mansion in Pobre Obre to hear reactions from people who knew him.
