The Gilded Chest — Schedule I Walkthrough

Starting the Game: After a cutscene and character customization, you spawn near the bus station. Open your phone ('Tab') and read messages. Follow the quest 'Getting Started' to find a message from 'Unknown' (Uncle Nelson) asking you to go to the payphone. Uncle Nelson instructs you to retrieve his stash near the skatepark, located on a ledge by the motel road. You will find $375.

Renting a Motel Room: Speak to the motel manager, Donna, in the house next to the motel. The quest updates to 'Rent a motel room'. After the dialogue, you can pickpocket Donna to steal back the $75 needed for the room. Enter room 1 to complete the objective. Return to the payphone to speak with Uncle Nelson again.

Buying Equipment: A new questline, 'Gearing Up', begins. Go to the hardware store (marked by a yellow star on the map, or by walking forward from your room until the road ends, then turning left). At the hardware store, you'll need to deposit your cash at the ATM and purchase a grow tent, soil bag, and watering can. It's recommended to also buy 'Plant Trimmers', a 'Packaging Station', and 10 'Baggies' for upcoming quests. Optionally, buy a trash grabber and a 'Trash bag'. If you tell Dan, the shop owner, you're a drug dealer, he may give you 'Speed Grow'. Return to your motel room, place the grow tent, and fill the pot with soil. Speak to Uncle Nelson at the payphone again.

Planting your First Seeds: Uncle Nelson introduces Albert Hoover. Check your phone for a message from Albert. To order seeds, select 'I need to order a [dead drop]' from the message options. Purchase 'OG Kush' seeds. Albert will deliver them to a highlighted [dead drop] location. Pay off your tab by placing cash in the [dead drop] behind the hardware store. Sow the seed in the grow tent by pressing 'E' when prompted. Water the plant using the watering can, which you can fill at the sink. Sleeping after watering helps plants grow faster and conserves water.

Harvesting and Packaging: Once the plant is fully grown, use the 'Plant Trimmers' on the grow tent to harvest the buds. Place down the 'Packaging Station'. Interact with it to package the buds into baggies. Drag baggies to the 'Packaging' spot and buds to the 'Input' spot. Press 'Pack', then drag each bud into a bag, and the bag into the hopper. Packaged weed will appear in the output. You can also unpack weed. Jars can also be purchased at the hardware store for storage.
