Sometimes, you'll find valuable artifacts within or near them, but getting them is a whole other challenge.

Your best bet against both is preparation. Keep your eyes peeled, listen to your Geiger counter, and don't be afraid to use your trusty S.P.E.L.L. device to detect anomalies before you step on them.
