Learn about Ark 2 Smith Shops in Prodias and Brakia, their functions like Judge Item, Raise Item Level, Add Item Effect, and how to unlock them.

Smith Shops are found in Prodias and Brakia and can be used to improve items and equipment. For a fee, they can raise current equipment levels, ATK/DEF (Attack/Defense), or add special abilities. An example of equipment is "Red Shoes: LV 10/12, ATK 36/40, Increase Move Ability", where "LV 10/12" shows the current/max level, "ATK 36/40" shows current/max attack, and "Increase Move Ability" is an extra effect. Equipment always has a current/max level and ATK/DEF, but may not have an extra ability, which can be set or learned through battle use.

Shop Functions:

• Judge Item: Available at any Guild for free. Provides a description of the item but no stats.
• Raise Item Level: Raises the item level of equipment. An item at maximum item level cannot be upgraded further.
• Add Item Effect: If the weapon is applicable and does not already have an effect, you can select one from a list to add it. Only one effect can be added and it cannot be replaced.
• Raise Max Level: For a fee, the maximum level and ATK/DEF of the item is raised by 1-3. This is a Prodias-only function.
• Raise Off/Def: This can be used on any applicable equipment. For a fee, the ATK or DEF of the item will raise by 1-3. This is a Brakia-only function.
• Personalize: For a fee, the smithmaster will make an item equippable only on a certain ally. This can increase the item's LV & ATK/DEF a bit. This is a Brakia-only function and may be better used on monster weapons.

All guilds start with "Judge" and "Raise Item Level". The Master smith in Brakia starts with "Judge", "Raise Item Level", and "Add Item Effect". To unlock better abilities, repeatedly use the option lowest on the list. For example, to unlock "Add Item Effect" at the smith in Prodias, use "Raise Item Level" 5 times, then close and re-open the menu.
