Ambush in the Temple

Follow our guide to complete the Ambush in the Temple quest in Assassin's Creed Origins. Learn how to find Menehet, deal with attackers, and track down fugitives.

Alright, so you're heading towards the Lake Mareotis area in Assassin's Creed Origins. Your goal is to make your way northeast, probably cutting through some farmland until you hit a road. Just stick to that road heading north along the coast until you spot a town in the distance – that's Yamu. As you get closer, Bayek will mention an old friend, Menehet, who's a priest and happens to be at the Temple of Sekhmet. If you're looking to get some extra experience points, this is a good side quest to tackle.

Go ahead and track the quest, then ride over to the temple. You'll find a fast travel spot nearby, which is super handy, and the area is called the Hypostyle Hall. Seriously, grab that fast travel point first – it'll make getting back here way easier later. If you want to clear out everything in the area before you even talk to Menehet, you can totally do that too. To get into the temple, you can use either the south or west entrance. Once inside, head north-northwest. You'll find a passage, and Menehet will be standing right there. You can actually just walk past him for now; he won't bother you if you don't initiate a conversation. Keep going into the chamber just beyond him. You'll see some people praying around a pool. Look east-northeast and climb up one of those brightly painted pillars. This will get you to an upper balcony where you'll find a piece of Papyrus on a table. This puzzle is called “Fertile Lands” and it actually relates to a quest you'll get a bit later called **“Birthright”**.

Once you've grabbed that, head back southeast to find Menehet. He's still standing where you left him. Have a chat with him. After some initial small talk, Bayek will manage to get Menehet to agree to give him a tour. Talk to him again to officially start the tour. They'll chat about politics and religion – pretty much the same thing back then, right? After making an offering, BAM! Bayek gets ambushed, but he manages to fight them off and chase the attackers away. Now, these guys who attack someone in a temple definitely need to face justice, so Bayek starts hunting them down.

Your main objective now is to track down your attackers: Soris, Hasina, Nailah, and Keba. Bring up Senu and use her hawk vision to spot your targets through walls. You'll need to round them up one by one. Most of them are pretty straightforward. You'll need to locate Hasina, and Nailah will actually follow you around once you find her. Soris is a bit more annoying; he'll sic a hyena on you, so you'll have to take care of that first. The last one, Keba, has gotten himself stuck in a well. To help him out, just head east and smash through a reed wall to create an exit. After that, return to Menehet. He's currently dealing with an angry shopper. Just talking to Menehet will wrap up the **“Ambush in the Temple”** quest and kick off the next one, **“Ulterior Motive”**.
