Follow our walkthrough to complete The Jaws of Sobek quest in Assassin's Creed Origins. Uncover a conspiracy, raid a trireme, and clear the Trireme Stranding Camp.
Alright, let's get this quest, 'The Jaws of Sobek,' sorted. First things first, you'll need to head to the southeasternmost island. Look for a house marked on your map – that's where you'll find an illegal tannery. Once inside, drop down into the tannery itself. Time to use your Animus Pulse to highlight some key objects. You'll want to examine the strung-up crocodiles, a mummy on a table, more mummies on the floor, and finally, a treasure box in the corner. Doing this will trigger a scene where Bayek figures out what's going on and decides to put a stop to this blasphemy.
After you climb out of the tannery, make your way north to the docks. You'll find a priest named Padiaset there, trying to protest the murder of the gods to some soldiers who clearly aren't interested. Take care of his captors – they're two brutes armed with tower shields and axes. Once they're down, free Padiaset and have a chat with him. He'll give you a lead on a trireme that might hold the answers you're looking for.
Now, you need to head west through Krokodilopolis to reach a search area. Once you're there, deploy Senu to help you locate the specific ship you're after. Keep in mind, its exact location can shift a bit. When you've spotted it, you'll need to commandeer a ship from the docks on the western edge of the city and sail over. Just a heads-up: try to avoid the ship if it's docked at the Trireme Stranding Camp on the coast west of Krokodilopolis. It's technically part of Uab Nome, and if it's there, you might be in for a much tougher fight than you're expecting.
Once you've reached the trireme, you'll need to deal with the guards on board. There are only a handful, and as usual, you can take most of them out with stealthy ledge takedowns by clinging to the side of the vessel. After you've cleared them out, search the desk inside the tent on deck. You'll find some instructions that point you towards... the Trireme Stranding Camp.
Trireme Stranding Camp
Okay, so you have to go to the Trireme Stranding Camp anyway. The good news is, you won't have to deal with an extra ship full of soldiers you already cleared. The bad news? Another ship might just show up while you're there! But let's not dwell on that. This is pretty much a standard enemy camp, complete with soldiers (levels 29-30) and a captain (level 31). You'll also find one treasure chest here, which will help complete the location objectives.
There are more soldiers here than in many other smaller camps, and they come in various types. Thankfully, you've got plenty of options for dealing with them. You can climb the cliffs to the west of the camp and use them as a vantage point to pick off enemies below. Alternatively, the masts of the two triremes permanently docked here can also serve as excellent perches. Once you've thinned out the stragglers, you'll find plenty of bushes to hide in, including some around the captain's tent. Just outside this tent is the alarm brazier. Honestly, the brazier isn't in a super convenient spot for this camp; if you can even reach it to set it off, you've probably already eliminated enough enemies to wrap up your current objective and the area's location goals.
After you've cleared the camp (or at least cleared enough of it), head into the tent and read another piece of correspondence from Sehetep. This confirms he's the ringleader behind all this sacrilege – which probably isn't a huge shock if you've already completed the quest 'Sobek's Tears'. This marks the end of 'The Jaws of Sobek' and the beginning of 'Bad Faith'. Don't forget to loot the large red chest in the tent to finish up the area's location objectives.
