Follow our Assassin's Creed Origins walkthrough for the Serapis Unites quest, guiding you through the Sarapeion, Kibotos Arsenal, and the hunt for bandits.

Walkthrough
  1. 1
Begin the quest by going to the Sarapeion, located southwest of the Great Library. While there, enter a building on the southwestern end to find and collect the Papyrus Puzzle scroll "The Stone Gaze".
  2. 2
Proceed to the large temple structure to the east within the Sarapeion. Interact with the statue inside to trigger a cutscene where a priest asks for your help.
  3. 3
The priest explains that a drummer was unjustly jailed by the Phylakitai for theft. Your objective is to rescue the drummer.
  4. 4
Leave the Sarapeion and head north to find a search area. Use Senu to locate the drummer, who is being held in the Kibotos Arsenal outpost.
  5. 5
Infiltrate the Kibotos Arsenal. You can gain a vantage point by climbing the southern wall. The alarm beacon is located over the eastern gate.
  6. 6
The outpost is guarded by level 8-9 guards, a level 10 captain, and overseen by a level 11 commander. Guards are also present on the walls.
  7. 7
Your objectives within the Kibotos Arsenal are to loot two treasure chests, kill the captain, and kill the commander.
  8. 8
Disable the alarm brazier. You can eliminate guards by sniping, using stealth takedowns, or by exploiting environmental hazards like oil pots.
  9. 9
To use oil pots for an explosive effect, light an arrow by holding it near a brazier and then shoot the oil urns when enemies are nearby.
  10. 10
A ballista is located on the roof of the barracks on the southern end of the camp.
  11. 11
Loot the two treasure chests: one large red chest west of the ballista, and a small white chest inside the barracks, accessible via a trap door east of the ballista.
  12. 12
After eliminating all guards and looting the chests, free the drummer from his cage.
  13. 13
Carry the injured drummer out of the fort to safety.
  14. 14
Talk to the drummer, who will ask you to find and kill the bandits responsible for the theft to clear his name.
  15. 15
Head south to the search area, west of the Sarapeion. Use Senu to locate the bandits, who are usually found near the blacksmith and weaver.
  16. 16
Eliminate the bandit leader (level 10) and any accompanying bandits (levels 9-10).
  17. 17
Retrieve the stolen hide from the bandits.
  18. 18
Return to the Sarapeion and intervene when the tanner is accusing the priest and the drummer. This will conclude the quest.
Tips
  • The Papyrus Puzzle solution can be found later.
  • Pay attention to the regular patrols on the walls and within the fort.
  • Commanders are essentially higher-level captains and can be dealt with similarly.
  • Upgrading your hidden blade can make eliminating commanders easier.
  • There is a chance for legendary gear to drop from commanders.
  • The ballista can be useful but be aware of enemies dropping from higher ground.
  • The BOOM! trophy/achievement can be worked towards by using oil pots.
  • Be cautious when carrying the drummer out of the fort, as you may still encounter enemies.
  • For completing the Sarapeion objectives: 150 XP
  • For completing the Kibotos Arsenal objectives: 300 XP
  • For completing the quest “Serapis Unites”: 800 XP
