Complete The Tax Master quest in assassins creed origins by rescuing Harkhuf from Fort Nikiou. Rewards include 1,250 XP.
Walkthrough
- 1Return to Harkhuf’s home and discover it has been ransacked. Jeska will tell you Harkhuf is being held at Fort Nikiou to the southeast.
- 2Head to the southern end of Siwa and follow the prominent road running south. Continue southeast, then east until you reach a four-way intersection. Destroy the Ptolemy Statue located here.
- 3Travel to Fort Nikiou. Scout the fortress with Senu. It is a large fortress with high walls and a restricted zone. It is guarded by over thirty soldiers, including two level 17 captains, a level 18 commander, and many level 15-16 soldiers.
- 4There are two alarm braziers: one on the southeastern wall and another on an interior watchtower.
- 5A watery passage on the southeastern exterior of the fort can be used for entry, but beware of crocodiles inside.
- 6Scale the southeastern wall and clear it of enemies. Work your way down the walls to the northwest and proceed to the building where Harkhuf is held captive.
- 7Before rescuing Harkhuf, you must defeat a strong level 17 captain wielding a polearm, located near the caged civilians southeast of Harkhuf's prison. This captain has great reach, high damage, and significant health. Avoid using a hidden blade assassination or a headshot (a shot that lands on the enemy's head, usually an instant kill) on him. Use a Sickle Sword with a full Overpower bar, or start with a headshot or assassination attempt, empty your Warrior Bow and Light Bow into him, and retreat if necessary. Ensure he has no support and do not fight him in an enclosed space.
- 8Enter the building where Harkhuf is held captive and speak to him through the trapdoor. Learn that Sefetu has the key.
- 9Locate Sefetu in the largest building northwest of the prison. He often sits on a throne outside, making him vulnerable to archery. Alternatively, clear his guards and assassinate him by climbing up below him. Loot the **Prison Key** from Sefetu.
- 10Eliminate the remaining enemies in the northwestern half of the fort to create a clear escape route. Destroy the Alarm Brazier if possible and kill guards beyond the wall.
- 11Free Harkhuf and escort him out of the fort through the southwestern gate. Follow him until he feels safe.
- 12Talk to Harkhuf to complete the quest.
- 13Before leaving Fort Nikiou, find the treasures: one red chest on the second floor of the prison building (eastern corner), and a small box on a table on the bottom floor of Sefetu’s stronghold.
Tips
- Scanning the area with Senu before infiltrating the fort will make the approach safer.
- The density of soldiers is not high due to the fort's size, allowing for opportunistic stealth takedowns with a bow or hidden blade.
- Ballistae can be used against the fort's soldiers.
- Clearing the southeastern wall first is a manageable task.
