Learn how to free Theodoros from his captors and then track down and abduct Derratos's scribe in Assassin's Creed Origins. Follow our walkthrough for this quest.
Alright, so you're looking to help out a guy named Theodoros. You'll find him east of Nitria, chilling (not really) on a road that heads northeast/southwest. Keep an eye out along this road, especially where it runs parallel to the northern edge of Lake Moeris. You'll spot Theodoros in a cage, getting yelled at by some soldiers. Looks like he's in a bit of a pickle, so your job is to take out the roughly half-dozen guards around him, bust him out of his cage, and then carry him away from the immediate danger. Once he's safe, have a chat with him.
Turns out Theodoros has a score to settle with a general named Derratos, but his allies haven't had much luck. He figures with your help, you two can get the job done. He'll ask you to follow him back to his allies' camp, which is marked on your map as the Bakchias point of interest. Just try to keep any pesky soldiers from bothering you on the way there.
When you get to Bakchias, Theodoros gets some bad news: Derratos isn't at his camp. Theodoros isn't one to give up easily, though, so he's going to task you with kidnapping Derratos's scribe. The idea is to question the scribe to find out where Derratos is hiding.
Bakchias
Before you head off, there's a little something to grab in Bakchias. Go past the shrine building and head into the mountains to the north. Look for a pit you can climb down into using a ladder. Once you're down there, loot any smaller containers for random items. Then, head north again and you'll find another ladder, this one guarded by a cobra. Take out the snake, climb the ladder, and you'll find a red chest. This is your location objective for Bakchias.

Stealing a Scribe
Your next destination is Karanis, located to the southwest. Funny enough, this is pretty close to where the main quest takes you. It's convenient when these side quests line up like that! Make your way southeast back to the road and follow it southwest until you're near Lake Moeris. The road will then turn west and lead you right past Karanis. As you approach, you'll unlock a fast travel point. There's also another optional fast travel point nearby that you can climb and synchronize with if you want a bit more convenience.
Once you're ready, deploy Senu and find the scribe. He's likely pretty drunk somewhere and guarded by two tough axe-and-shield wielding brutes (they're level 24). The good news is, they won't bother you if you keep your distance. This means you can easily sneak up on one of them and take him out quietly. Then, you can deal with the other one who's now isolated. After both guards are down, pick up the scribe and leave Karanis. Summon your mount and ride back to Bakchias. Drop the scribe off at the marked spot, and the quest will wrap up.
The next quest, "Rebel Strike," is located a bit southwest of here. You might as well make your way there by completing other side quests. If you want to jump straight to it, you can skip ahead to that page, but otherwise, you'll naturally get there by doing other activities.
