Shinobi Warfare Kuji Kiri Quest Walkthrough

Starting the Quest: First off, you'll need to find one of the Kuji Kiri locations in the Izumi Settsu region. There are four to choose from, and it doesn't matter which one you visit first, as the game will trigger the quests in the correct order. The locations are: Eboshigata Hachiman Shrine (Southwest of the Hideout), Fujibayashi Homestead (Northeast of Osaka Castle), Rolling Glen (East of Osaka Castle), and Kawachi Heights (Southeast of the Hideout).

Reach Nagano Pass: Once you've completed the short rhythm mini-game at a Kuji Kiri shrine, the quest officially begins. You'll then need to follow Matsu. You can either follow her manually or just hold down [X/A] to have the game guide you. When you reach the next shrine, interact with it to trigger a scene. Your next objective is to reach Nagano Pass. Head east up the hill. You'll start encountering some enemies soon. This is where stealth comes in! Crouch by holding [Square/X] and use the long grass to sneak past them. Staying hidden is key here.

Navigating Enemy Patrols: If you find an enemy is directly in your path, don't risk going around them in the open. Instead, stay in the grass and press down on the D-pad to whistle. This will lure them closer to your position, allowing you to perform a stealth assassination by pressing [Triangle/Y]. Keep using the long grass to make your way to the top of Nagano Pass undetected.

Defeat Oda Brute: After reaching the Igan Troops, a cutscene will play, and you'll face off against the Oda Brute. He's only level one, so he shouldn't be too tough, but Naoe is quite fragile, so play defensively. Your best bet is to parry his attacks. He usually throws four strikes in a row. Watch out for his red attacks – these can't be parried, so you'll need to quickly dodge to the side.
