Follow Part 72 of our Chained Together walkthrough to navigate Sova Village, recruit Egyl, and find valuable items like the Golden Breastplate and Monster Fangs.

After defeating the boss, he will become helpful and offer to take you to his chief to the north. Head north up the steps for a nearby [_CRYSTAL_] by the house, then down and around to the north part of this land for a fight.

Up here, get on the NORTH/SOUTH moving platform and ride it to the south part of this area. Disembark and go southwest to get the [_CRYSTAL_] here. Note the man nearby you cannot reach. Head to the northwest (under the tree) to find a chest with the [_GOLDEN BREASTPLATE_].

Get back on the platform and take it to the north, stepping off and heading north to find "Sova Village". There are some scenes here as you get a look at the town and then meet with the chief. Robb isn't too kind to the rude bird people. They aren't going to help you.

After the scenes, you have some freedom. Explore to the right and to the south for some items. To the south are some stairs, but if you go to the LEFT before going down the stairs, you can get to a sneaky chest to the left for some [_MONSTER FANGS x2_].

From here, go back up and left, out to the dock area. To the south is a shop and a blacksmith anvil.

Note: Buy at least three pieces of equipment here for a "Rewards Board" reward.

Head north from the shop, all the way up to the house, but take a right and go down the stairs to see a chest under the walkway. Open it for some [_COLOSSUS HIDE x3_]. Go UP the stairs now, up to the rock wall. There's a place to climb up for chests: one with [_1,000a_] and if you press north and follow the path, a chest with a [_GOLDEN BRIGANDINE_].

Head back to the house. Go left and you'll see another house. Run behind this one, to the left, to see some stairs. Nearby the stairs is a chest with a [_METAL AKETON_].

You can enter the houses to talk to villagers. You can also exit the village to the southwest, but Glenn won't go down a screen, or jump the gap on the left at this time.

Head back to EGYL and tell him you're ready to sleep. This will cause some scenes to happen with Frederik. There's a lot of scene here, mainly between the Church and the King, although you see Ser Gwain impose his will. Kylian's path seems to be filled with interesting events itself.

You'll be back at the front of the village after the scenes, with an important note:

EGYL JOINS THE PARTY!

You can swap Egyl in and level him up. It is worth it, as you will be using him. Focus on his HP, defense, and any of his hate-generating or guarding abilities, specifically "Cover" and "Shield Ally". This is important, as you will use him earlier for a "Rewards Board" panel later.

Once ready, go out the village and go left. You'll have some jumps but this path will take you to the middle screen of the area where you will continue.

As you step into this area, you get a couple of TUTORIAL BOXES introducing Egyl, who is much more of a tank than anything you've had before:

SYSTEM EXPLANATION: HATE
The enemies' targets are not entirely chosen at random. Every action a character performs draws the enemies' Hate on that character more and more. The character with the highest Hate has the greatest chance of being targeted.

SYSTEM EXPLANATION: TANKING
Egyl is a physical tank. He can take much more physical damage than other characters due to having more HP and a higher defense. Egyl learns skills that allow him to draw the enemies' attack onto himself.
