Learn how to beat General Godfrey in Chained Together! Get tips on his weaknesses, attacks, and the best strategies to use water moves and secure victory.
Alright, so after a bit of a scene with Raphael and Sienna, Mato's gonna rush back in telling us the place is about to blow! Seriously, that was his plan all along. No time to chat, everyone makes a run for the exit, but guess who shows up? General Godfrey. He's super confident, not scared of a little fire at all. Enjoy the cutscenes, because a boss fight is coming up!
Boss Encounter: General Godfrey
This boss fight isn't too tough if you're ready. Remember how I suggested bringing water moves with Lenne and Tomke? This is why! Godfrey and his hands are weak to water. When he tries to power up his flames, hitting him with water attacks cools him down. If you have two characters with area-of-effect water attacks, you can keep him pretty manageable.
Stats / Weaknesses:
- General Godfrey: Weak to Water (Hands and Body)
Phases:
- Godfrey's Hands: These attack first, usually with a basic punch (around 50 damage to one person) or a 'Fistbump' (around 70-75 damage). They have their own health bars, and you can defeat them, but Godfrey can revive them up to twice. Taking them out helps, especially if you can do it before focusing on Godfrey himself.
- General Godfrey:
- Stealable Item: [_BAGHNAHK_] (upgrade for Mikah) - definitely try to steal this!
- Attacks:
- 'Feeding Fire': Powers up his flames. Use water attacks to counter this.
- Resurrect Hands: Brings his hands back into the fight.
- 'Firesnap': Low damage (30-40) to one person.
- 'Fire Belly': His strongest attack, hitting the entire party for about 100 damage.
Strategy:
- Keep hitting Godfrey with water attacks to counter his 'Feeding Fire' and keep his hands from being too much of a threat.
- If you can, steal the [_BAGHNAHK_] weapon for Mikah.
- Make sure everyone has HP REGEN buffs active.
- The fight rewards you with a [_GRIMOIRE SHARD_].
After you take down General Godfrey, Mato will explain everything. It's a lot to take in, but it makes sense with their oaths. You'll find yourself back at the village. Egyl will return after finishing his solo work and will listen to his people before agreeing to join you. He's really grown! Even though you've only known him a short time, Egyl decides to help and will lead you to the teleporter to head to the ruins.
NEW OBJECTIVE: Head for the teleporter to reach the Ruins Under a Tree.
Just head over to the teleporter, and you'll get another scene before moving on to the next area. See you there!
