Alright, we're diving into Part 99! We've got some solid gear to grab and a surprise boss fight coming up, so let's get moving.

First off, head towards that cluster of three chests you can see. Before you get there, make sure to snag the [_GLAIVE V500_] from the chest on the left. It's a weapon I've been looking forward to!

Now, push northwest. You'll get into another fight. Take 'em out! This is actually a great spot to finish leveling up all your Sky Armor weapons – doing so nets you a Silver Trophy called "Jack of All Trades," which is super satisfying and gives you a nice stat boost.

With that done, head south and use your Copper Key to enter the house. This leads us into the "Underground Area." Make sure Tomke is in your party for this next section!

UNDERGROUND (NHYSA)

This area looks like the underground part of Tormund, but it's covered in these strange glyphs. As you move forward, you'll encounter some "Phantoms." These guys can be canned, which is exactly why we brought Tomke along!

These Phantoms love using area attacks, and with four of them, you'll definitely need some healing. Make sure to CAN one of them and then focus on taking down the rest.

Note: Canned Phantoms teach Tomke the "Treasure Mark" ability. This resets your Overdrive Bar once per battle, letting you go absolutely wild! It's a game-changer.

After the fight, go left to find a chest containing the [_GRAPHNEL_] weapon – Tomke's time to shine! Now, head back and go north. We need the Silver Key to proceed. Use it, then head west and talk to the ghost drawing symbols.

Go north through the doors ahead. At the end, you'll find a chest with the [_OVELIA FO500_]. Not bad! Just a heads-up, this western path actually loops back to the "Upper City" area. For now, though, let's backtrack and take the "Northern Path." This leads to a pretty unexpected boss fight, so it's a good idea to save your game before we dive in!

~ BOSS ENCOUNTER: WIEDERGANGER ~

Seriously, I wasn't expecting this boss fight at all! Wiederganger is that menacing "red eyed monster" we've seen around. It's strong against light, weak to darkness, can be stolen from, and is undead – which is weird for an undead creature! Definitely try to steal from it to snag a free [_TEKKO_].

This fight is interesting but not overly tough. You'll still need to keep up your healing and stay in the overdrive range. Let's look at its attacks:

  • Poison Odem: This can poison everyone, so keep Regen handy!
  • Attack: It attacks twice when it uses this.
  • Attack Twice: It gives itself two moves. It's strange that it doesn't always use this, but that's how this boss is programmed!
  • Constructing Spirit Cage: This traps a party member. The cage has its own HP bar, so you need to destroy it to free them.
  • Calling Children: It summons "Myling" that help him. They can hit everyone for 40-50 damage, revive each other, and even heal the boss for 500 HP! The best strategy here is to get both Myling down to critical health, then attack them simultaneously to finish them off. We've done this before, so aim for that when they appear!

That's the gist of the fight. Apply your usual buffs and debuffs, keep your health topped up, and prioritize freeing trapped party members. When the "Children" show up, use area attacks to take them down together. Otherwise, it's a pretty standard fight! You'll get a [_GRIMOIRE SHARD_] afterward, which is a nice bonus. Let's take this beast down!

After that intense fight, you'll get a scene confirming you're getting closer to your goal – awesome! But before we push too far ahead, I want to explore a bit more.

Head back to the first area (go west) where the Fountain is. We need to go through the upper locked Bronze Door here, which leads to another part of the "Underground Area."

This is the "Eastern Underground" area, and it's where all those teased treasures are! Head left, then down when you have to, and then left again. You'll see a path upwards soon – take it to find a chest with another [_SCHOLAR'S HABIT_]. Head back down and keep going left, then go up again when possible and move further left. Head to the far northwest corner of this area, and you'll find another encounter with Phantoms. Defeat them, and claim the chest up there!
