How to Use Vampiric Curses

Vampiric Curses in Diablo 4 are a mechanic influenced by specific vampiric powers. These powers can either inflict the curse on enemies, benefit from enemies affected by it, or both.

How Vampiric Curses Work:

When an enemy affected by your Vampiric Curse is killed, their soul is stored. Using a Defensive, Macabre, or Agility skill will then unleash these stored souls to attack nearby enemies. You can store up to 8 souls.

Vampiric Powers that Interact with Curses:

• Accursed Touch: Grants a Lucky Hit chance (up to 22%) to inflict Vampiric Curse. Cursed enemies have a 15% chance to spread the curse. Stored souls deal 100% increased damage. Requires Hunter’s Acclaim Tier IX and x6 Pacts.
• Coven's Fangs: Increases damage of Conjuration, Companion, Minion, and Bat Familiar attacks by 26% against Crowd-Controlled enemies. Grants a Lucky Hit chance (up to 30%) to inflict Vampiric Curse with these attacks. Requires Potent Blood and x2 Pacts.
• Flowing Veins: Increases Damage Over Time by 30% against moving enemies or those affected by a Vampiric Curse. Requires Potent Blood and x2 x2 x2 Pacts.
• Metamorphosis: Transforms you into a cloud of bats upon Evade, granting 2 seconds of Unstoppable. Enemies take 80% Physical damage and are inflicted with Vampiric Curse. Requires completing 'A Serpent Cornered' and x2 x2 x2 Pacts.
• Prey on the Weak: Increases damage by 8% against Vulnerable enemies. Enemies are Vulnerable while affected by a Vampiric Curse from your other powers. Requires Potent Blood and x2 Pacts.

Best Usage Strategies:

• Lucky Hit Builds: Accursed Touch synergizes well with builds that frequently trigger Lucky Hit effects.
• Minion Builds: Coven's Fangs is beneficial for builds that rely on minions or companions.
• All-Rounder: Metamorphosis is highly effective as it inflicts Vampiric Curse with every Evade through enemies. Note that the curse may not register if the enemy dies during the dash. High-end boots with extra dodge charges can allow for frequent use.
• Synergy with Prey on the Weak: If you frequently apply Vampiric Curses, Prey on the Weak can be added to make enemies Vulnerable and increase your damage against them.
