Guide to Chapter 7: To Be Divine in Divinity: Original Sin 2. Learn about the End Times, the fight against Braccus Rex, and the final choices to claim Divinity.

You will be joined by a number of friends from the Lady Vengeance: Malady, Gareth, Tarquin and Almira.

Malady tells you that she will pray for you in the upcoming battle; prayers in this place have real power. You and your party members receive the Revered status making all Source skills cost -3 SP. You may want to equip Anathema on your Strength character and have them memorise Onslaught.

When you're ready to proceed, go downstairs to meet Lucian.

Dallis and "Vredeman" are here as well and Dallis removes her Mask of the Shapeshifter, revealing herself to be an Eternal. Lucian says that their purpose is ridding Rivellon of Source and Dallis gives you the history that you may already have figured out. In a past age, Fane discovered that the veil between the world and the Void was made of Source. Seven Eternal lords disobeyed their king's orders and usurped the power of the Source, exiling the King and the rest of his people to the Void. With their stolen power, the Seven created mortals so that they would have worshippers. However, they also tore a hole in the Veil, allowing the Void to find its way into the world. In order to close this hole, the Source must be returned to the Veil. If you point out that closing the hole in the Veil will condemn the King and the rest of the Eternals to eternity in the Void, Dallis replies that her people cannot be allowed to return: they are Voidwoken and can only bring chaos and death. Dallis then recounts how she was punished by the God King for the betrayal of her father, Fane: stripped of Source and sealed in a tomb. However, the tomb sheltered her from the Void meaning that she was one of a handful of Eternals who escaped that fate: her, her mother and ... Fane. Who never even looked for them. As for the real Dallis, she was just someone who stumbled upon an Eternal's tomb and was drained of Source and left to moulder.

Ask how all the brutality and horror that you've witnessed was supposed to supposed to achieve peace and point out how stealing Source from the Seven allowed the Voidwoken to break through in the first place. All necessary sacrifices according to Lucian who tells you that one last sacrifice remains to be made: you must give up your Source. For the sake of Rivellon,

The choice you make here simply determines whether you will be fighting Braccus Rex or everyone.

If you choose the path of sacrifice, Dallis will raise the Aeteran and ... nothing will happen. It seems that Braccus Rex managed to slip his leash while Dallis wasn't looking and now it is time for HIS DIVINITY!

He calls upon the God King for help. Point out that the God King will never share rule and make a Persuasion check. Braccus demands to know who you are to challenge the SOURCE KING. Respond as you please and violence will ensue.

Braccus Rex

  • Attributes: STR: 45, FIN: 37, INT: 48, CON: 48, MEM: 37, WIT: 32
  • Initiative: 32
  • Health: 9313
  • Armour: 6603 / 6023
  • Resistances: Water 20%, Air 20%, Poison 200%
  • Abilities: Pyrokinetic 10, Perseverance 6
  • Talents: Undead, Savage Sortilege

Braccus summons the Kraken who in turn summons a number of the God King's other servants: the Sallow Man, Isbeil and Linder Kemm. Ignore them; your only priority is defeating Braccus Rex. Pull him towards the party member wielding Anathema and use Onslaught to put an end to him. That is, if he even survives that long since you have Green Tea giving you a bunch of 1AP Source skills.

When Braccus is defeated, Dallis the Eternal tells you that the future of all that is depends on you alone. Your companions will have something to say and then you will need to claim Divinity and make a choice:

  1. Become the new Divine: this unlocks the Risen trophy. As the Divine, you lead the world against the Void.
  2. Give the Source back to all the peoples: this unlocks the One for All trophy. The God King is pushed back into the Void but the power vacuum leads to conflict.
  3. Allow yourself and all the world to be purged of its Source: this unlocks new Supreme Sacrifice trophy. The Veil is closed and Malady saves you from becoming a Silent Monk.
  4. Use the power of Divinity to bring back the Eternals (Fane only): The mortal races are enslaved by the Eternals.

Angel and Demon

If you made a pact with the Doctor, he will appear after you defeat Braccus Rex and ask whether you intend to honour your agreement.

Agree to see it through and you will have to fight your former companions along with any survivors from the Braccus fight (besides Lucian and Dallis; the Doctor will have taken care of them already). You will be assisted by the Doctor in his archdemon form, Adramahlihk. When you've defeated everyone, Adramahlihk declares that together you will achieve Balance, unlocking the related trophy.

The Lady Vengeance

After the scenes, you will find yourself back on the Lady Vengeance. Take some time so speak to your companions both alive and dead and to those who joined you on your journey. If you happened to carry a phoenix egg in your inventory for more than half the game, you will find Phoenix Hatchling Ferno strutting around the deck. When you're ready, speak to the Lady Vengeance and tell her that it is time to depart.
