Walkthrough
- 1Head north across the bridge to the area outside the cathedral. Speak to Consul Praxyr, who will inform you about the consulate being attacked by Voidwoken and catching fire.
- 2Agree to investigate to initiate the quest 'A Lizard Nightmare'.
- 3Head east to a small elven encampment. Trader Friel sells Aerotheurge, Geomancer, Pyrokinetic, Polymorph, and Hydrosophist skillbooks. Trader Aravae sells Aerotheurge, Necromancer, Summoning, and Hydrosophist skillbooks, along with the unique Kallisteis boots.
- 4Continue east to the dock and find Saheila. If Sebille is in your party, allow her to speak with Saheila about the coming war.
- 5Go up the steps to the northeast to find an Unarmed Elf selling unique items: the Rancour dagger, the Truthseeker sword, the Shattergrasp wand, the Divine Spark two-handed axe, the Three Sisters staff, the Into Thin Air bow, and the Soft Touch gloves. This elf also sells body parts that an elven character can eat to learn Meteor Swarm (Lord Eredor's Hand), Apotheosis (Lanilor's Head), and Pyroclastic Eruption (Anorion's Leg).
- 6Proceed north to the cathedral entrance and speak to Head Priestess, Sister Avenny.
- 7Ask to meet Lord Arhu. If you succeed in a Persuasion check, Sister Avenny will give you the key to Lord Arhu's quarters.
- 8Inside the cathedral, speak to a Pilgrim south of the large statue and buy the Sash of the Faithful (4/9).
- 9Go to the side chapel to the east to unlock the Arx - Cathedral waypoint (a marker on your map you've manually placed as a destination). Examine the statue in the southwest corner to find the Falone two-handed axe. You can use Smoke Cover (combine Aerotheurge and Scoundrel skillbooks) to steal it, but be quick as Smoke Cover does not last long. Avoid detection until the commotion dies down.
- 10Go to the side chapel to the west and buy the Mantle of the Faithful (5/9) from a Devoted Pilgrim.
- 11The Gloves of the Faithful (6/9) are in a cache behind the Lucian statue. You can use Smoke Cover to steal them.
- 12Speak to a Pilgrim north of the statue to buy the Cowl of the Faithful (7/9).
- 13Look for a dog named Charlie in the western hallway. She needs her ball back before she will answer questions.
- 14Continue north past two Paladins guarding a doorway. They will challenge you, but you can click through their conversation.
- 15Meet Brother Lyle, who will ask if you are joining the Endless Prayer or the Path of Blood. Inquire about the Path of Blood to learn it is only for those free from sin, otherwise it leads to death. Learn that Lord Arhu and Toymaker Sanders created the path.
- 16Puritan's Walk: Make a temporary save. Fast-travel to the Hall of Echoes, dismiss a party member, and speak to Sergeant Zrilla to create someone free from sin. Fast-travel back to Arx Cathedral and head north past Brother Lyle to the Path of Blood entrance. A Pilgrim will enter and die. Send your new companion through the doors and interact with the Large Statue of Lucian at the end. The Simulacrum of Lucian will ask four questions: if you would never steal, if you do not kill the innocent, if you would never serve the Void, and if you have always respected the Source of others. Answering all correctly unlocks a trophy. Reload your save if you do not want this to be permanent.
- 17Send one character through the Path of Blood for an exploration bonus. Use a Teleportation Pyramid to rejoin the party if the doors close behind them.
- 18Head into the crypt to the west to find Marie praying next to a tomb containing the Talisman of the Faithful (8/9). Distract Marie and the Paladin to steal it.
- 19In the northeast corner of the previous area, find a Purple Pouch left as an offering.
- 20Have a party member distract a nearby Priest and open the pouch to find the Ring of the Faithful (9/9). Equipping all the Faithful items will grant a permanent Blessed status.
- 21Make your way to Arhu's Chambers, marked on your map. Speak to Paladin Tara Bree, who is guarding the door.
- 22Tell Tara Bree that Sister Avenny authorized your entry, and she will step aside.
- 23Enter Arhu's Chambers to find it ransacked. Have three party members distract Bree and the two Paladins. Your thief can then pick the lock on the Ornate Chest at the end of the room to obtain Lucian's Divine Staff.
- 24Note the Scratch Pole in the corner. Go out onto the balcony where Charlie's ball can be seen on the grass below.
- 25Use the "Hold in hand" option to pick up Charlie's ball. Head to the south of the balcony and move a Pet Basket.

- Use Smoke Cover (combine Aerotheurge and Scoundrel skillbooks) to help steal items like the Falone two-handed axe and the Gloves of the Faithful, but be aware of its short duration.
- If you want to achieve the 'Puritan's Walk' trophy, it is recommended to make a temporary save before attempting it, as it requires specific character conditions.
- Stealing the Talisman of the Faithful requires distracting Marie and the Paladin.
