Navigate Fort Joy in Divinity: Original Sin 2 with our comprehensive walkthrough. Find companions, uncover secrets, and overcome early challenges on the beach.
Walkthrough
- 1The Fort Joy - Beach waypoint is east of your starting point. You can fast travel to unlocked waypoints.
- 2Speak to Tam, a child east of the waypoint, for flavour text.
- 3Proceed south and defeat the two Viscous Voidlings. Loot Magister Jalen's remains.
- 4Just past the voidlings, find a Reinforced Crate containing the Crafty Weaponry: Die by the Sword recipe book.
- 5Continue south. At a fork, take the western path to find The Red Prince. Invite him to join your party and agree to help him find a Dreamer.
- 6Continue south and a Black Cat will approach. If you have the Pet Pal talent, you can speak to it. The cat must remain alive until you leave Fort Joy.
- 7Backtrack north and turn east between two sections of a broken bridge. Note the Curious Chest on the northern section (inaccessible for now). You can create a Cooking Station here. Grab the Shovel.
- 8Continue east, hugging the rock face, and dig up a grave. Defeat the Freshly Buried Corpse.
- 9South of the grave, find and dig up a Sand Pile to retrieve the Darling Bow and other items.
- 10Southeast of the bow's location, find a Well Worn Chest with random level 2 loot.
- 11Backtrack to where you found the bow and head east through a passage to the Hidden Alcove. Find Fane examining a dead body. Invite him to join your party.
- 12In the Hidden Alcove, loot the body and use the Ooze Barrel to craft Small Poison Bottles. Note the Ornate Chest on an inaccessible ledge.
- 13Explore the rest of the area carefully due to a poison surface. Use Red Prince's Dragon's Blaze to clear it and access a crate and climb vines for a 300 XP bonus.
- 14Find Unnis and her ward Coral. Comfort Coral to receive a Scroll of Electric Discharge and 100 XP.
- 15Continue north to a beach with turtles. If approached or attacked, they transform into two Void-Touched Turtles and an Ancient Tainted Turtle.
- 16Defeat the turtles. Loot the unique Turtle's Claw wand from the Ancient Tainted Turtle.
- 17Search the bloated corpse by the sea for the Soggy Diary.
- 18Continue west to find a Well-Worn Chest.
Tips
- Combine shells with Long Sticks to make Improvised Staffs for selling.
- Consider leaving the initial voidling encounter if the XP would level you up, to recruit companions at a lower level.
- The cat must be kept alive throughout Fort Joy. Heal it if it takes damage.
- The Curious Chest on the northern bridge section can be reached later using the Teleportation ability.
- Fane takes damage from normal healing potions; use crafted poison bottles or other methods.
- The Ancient Tainted Turtle is dangerous. Spread out to avoid its Impalement ability and focus attacks on it. It bleeds oil, which can be ignited. It has no Magic Armour, making it vulnerable to Chloroform.
- Unnis's belongings are owned by her; she may become hostile if you steal.
- Companions: The Red Prince, Fane
- Items: Crafty Weaponry: Die by the Sword recipe, Shovel, Darling Bow, Turtle's Claw wand, Scroll of Electric Discharge.
- XP bonuses for exploration and quest completion.
