Navigate the Academy and the Council of Seven in Divinity: Original Sin 2. Uncover secrets, face the Voidwoken Delegate, and make crucial choices with this comprehensive walkthrough.
Head north up the corridor where a Voidwoken Delegate declares that they have returned to claim what is theirs.
Tell it that the world does not belong to the Void and it replies that mortals were made when they were banished. Enquire further to learn how the Seven usurpers led by Fane the Traitor took their powers and used them to create mortals, banishing the rest of the Eternals to the Void.
The PromiseIf your main character is Fane (or a custom undead character), you will have an option to swear an oath to the God King.
Choose this option to unlock the related trophy. You will receive some levelled gear, two Attribute points, two Combat Ability points and two Talent points. However, becoming Sworn changes the narrative and locks you out of a bunch of later options so you probably want to do this in the context of a temporary save.
FaneIf Fane is a companion, you must make a Persuasion check so that he does not take the Covenant. The Finesse option will automatically succeed.
If you attack the Voidwoken Delegate from range, you can fight it instead.
Voidwoken Delegate
| Attributes | STR: 20, FIN: 20, INT: 26, CON: 23, MEM: 13, WIT: 15 |
| Initiative | 15 |
| Health | 3223 |
| Armour | 1669 / 2069 |
| Resistances | Fire 40%, Water 40%, Air -20%, Earth -20% |
| Immunities | Diseased, Infected, Decaying |
| Abilities | Huntsman 2, Scoundrel 3, Pyrokinetic 5 |
| Talents | Opportunist |
It's not particularly difficult to beat and is worth a whopping 111,600 XP! Loots its remains for the items it would have given you had you chosen to take the Covenant.
Continue through the door at the end of the corridor. Unlock the door on the left and go through for an exploration bonus. You can grab a Phase Capacitor from the desk and some minor loot from a broken sarcophagus. Back outside, continue north to unlock the Academy of the Seven waypoint. Afterwards, examine the remains of the Seneschal on the floor nearby.
Place a Phase Capacitor in the compartment on the side. When the Seneschal rises from the floor, tentatively greet it and it will reply that your arrival is long overdue. Ask what you need to do and it tells you that you must enter the Temple and then prove yourself in the Arena of the One.
Head back south and then east to the Teacher's Hall. Grab a Phase Capacitor and from the table and place it in the Eternal Conductor in the east of the room to power up a light. Rotate the Eternal Reflector at the other end of the room so that the light beam goes to the north as shown below.
Afterwards, cast Spirit Vision and you can speak to spirits of six Masters gathered around the centre table.
Respond to their initial statement and you can opt to receive a "lesson" which will increase one attribute at the cost of another, as follows:
| Master | Response | +5 | -5 |
| Strength | - | STR | WIT |
| Finesse | Nod in affirmation | FIN | MEM |
| Intelligence | "False" | INT | FIN |
| Constitution | Any | CON | INT |
| Authority | "You'll do as you like" | MEM | STR |
| Wits | "Nothing" | WIT | CON |
Intelligence-based characters have little need of Finesse so it may be worthwhile receiving the Intelligence Master's lesson. Assuming your Finesse character is also your high Initiative character, you can receive the Constitution and Wits Masters' lessons to trade Intelligence for Wits. Note that only one party member can receive a given lesson.
You can also ask what happened to learn that an old pupil, Lucian, paid them a visit and poisoned them. It seems that his goal was to make it impossible for future candidates to ascend.
If you pick the lock of the door to the south, you will reach the Armaments of the One, earning an exploration bonus. Ignore the portal for the moment and return to the previous room.
Unscholarly Pursuits
Head north through the door to the library where you will find another Eternal Reflector. Rotate it so that the light beam goes west.
Cast Spirit Vision and you will be able to speak to a number of spirits. Start with the Spirit of Lennard Rawl near the reflector to learn that someone may have been murdered in the Chancellor's Office, initiating Unscholarly Pursuits.
Look among the depositories for the remains of Master Tremly and grab a Phase Capacitor from his remains. Search the desks for loot, including two Eternal Artefacts, before speaking to the Spirit of Taryan Graye seated at the desk in the top left corner of the room.
You learn that she and a rival Godwoken named Raedalus were in love and planning to leave the Academy. However, he went missing after going to see the Chancellor. The door to the Chancellor's Office to the north is locked and unlocking it requires you to split your party up:
- Have one party member stand on the pressure plate among the depositories
- Have a second party member press a button on the right side of the library
- Have a third party member activate the Unusual Tablet (aka Inconspicuous Contraption) next to a desk in the bottom right corner
- Finally, pull the lever to the _right_ of the door to unlock it.
If you do something out of sequence (or pull the wrong lever), you will take Air damage and will have to repeat the process. When the door is unlocked, go through for an exploration bonus. You will find the remains of the Chancellor and Raedalus on the floor. Cast Spirit Vision and speak to the Spirit of Raedalus.
After learning what became of him, show him where Taryan's spirit can be found. Return to the Spirit of Taryan Graye who is grateful to be reunited with her lover, if only in death. The two of them depart for the Hall of Echoes.
Back in the Forbidden Library, read the _Ancient Tome_ on the desk to learn Lucian's insights about the gods. Speak to your party members afterwards.
You will find more interesting reading material in the various depositories and if you use a movement skill,
