Patched Bugs (Version 1.1):

  1. Speech bugs have been fixed.
  2. Radiation increasing your stats has been fixed.
  3. The time limit for completing the quest to kill the Master and blow up the Military Base after returning the water chip has been removed (previously 500 days without the water caravan, or 400 days with). The game engine still has a 13-year time limit.
  4. The NPC duplicating bug has been fixed.
  5. Game stability has been increased.
  6. Save/load times have been increased.

Unfixed Bugs (and potential issues with v1.1):

  • The Stealth Boy can turn into a motion sensor if you turn it on and save in combat. This may occur with Fallout v.1.0.
  • You can barter and steal over your maximum weight limit. This is corrected in Fallout 2.
  • Irwin's quest takes about 14 days, but the Pip-Boy only subtracts two days until the deadline for the Vault to run out of water.
  • Using Power Armor and drugs can grant perks you are not entitled to.
  • If you scouted the northern area for Maxson, destroyed the Military base, told Maxson it was crawling with mutants, and were asked to go to the Elder meeting, an endless conversation can occur. The elder on the bottom left will continue to congratulate you. Workaround: Immediately after the elder finishes talking, enter combat mode ('A' key) and run away. Alt-Tabbing during the conversation may also resolve the issue.
  • There are irregularities in the Brotherhood of Steel and Shady Sands endings. For example, the Brotherhood may take over NCR while Shady Sands is taken over by mutants, without starting NCR.
  • It's possible to gain two Luck from Chuck, the fortuneteller in Adytum, by choosing the correct conversation path.
  • The bridge guard may not move even with version 1.1 after being told information. Workaround: Kill the Gun Runners and then deal with the Regulators yourself without Blades' assistance.
  • The Spy in the Followers quest cannot be finished as it was removed during development. The patch does not fix this.
  • When fighting the Master, he summons Nightkin. Saving and then loading the game will remove the Nightkin.
