Part 59

In the first room, destroy a barrel to reveal a hidden vort. Position yourself to see only the right edge of the barrel, then use altfire hornets to destroy it and quickly strafe left to sneak-attack the grunt and vort.

Repeat this barrel-destroying and sneak-shooting process for two more grunt barrels further into the room.

After clearing the barrels, shoot down the visible vorts. Use your flashlight to spot a final grunt barrel at the far end of the room and use hornets to clear that area. Quicksave before proceeding.

At the far end, be prepared for more vorts and possibly an alien controller (NPC (non-player character — anyone the game controls, not you)). Quickly use hornets while dodging for cover (press the cover button to crouch behind walls or objects).

Clear the doorway on the left by shooting hornets through it to eliminate the controller and any enemies in the hallway beyond.

Check dark alcoves for supplies like tripmines, C4 satchel bombs, health packs, and AR grenades.

In the hallway past the grunt barrels, set a C4 satchel and tripmines near the first barrel. Leave the hallway and detonate the satchel. For maximum effect, jump-toss another C4 satchel to land behind the second barrel to ensure both grunts die.

Crouch-walk to the doorway past the grunt barrels and fire hornets at the two controllers just beyond. Strafe for cover as needed until they are defeated.

Quicksave, then enter the next room and fire hornets at the two vorts. Use barrels and pillars for cover, moving around as necessary to defeat them without taking damage.

Collect the ammo canister to the left of the healing chamber. Use the healing chamber if needed.

Locate three small holes in the wall to the left of the healing chamber and crouch-walk through one. Move forward until section c4a1e loads.

Approach the shaft on the left and carefully drop onto the top-level bars, then mid-level bars, then low-level bars, and finally to the shaft floor.

Crouch-walk into the tunnel in a corner and proceed until you find two holes in the wall with drop-downs.

Move to the right hole, equip the gluon gun, and quicksave.

As soon as you drop down, turn right and run along the ledge to the back, hiding behind a large pillar from nearby vorts.

Quickly defeat the three alien controllers with the gluon gun as soon as you see them, while moving on the ledge to avoid vort attacks.

If you are unable to reach the pillar without being hit, get behind it as soon as possible and blast any zapping vorts. After dealing with them and the controllers, kill the two vorts approaching along the walkway with the assault rifle.

Quicksave, then peek out and use the hornet gun to eliminate any visible vorts, including those on the spinny lifts.

Switch to the hornet gun and stand behind the pillar to kill the vort on the nearby spinny lift.

Move to a position where you can fire hornets up at the nearest higher floor with a grunt barrel to potentially kill the vort up there.

Jump near the pillar to see if you can hornet-shoot a vort on the walkway just above you. If not, move away from the pillar until you can see it.

Once those vorts are dead, move along the ledge that circles the area. Keep an eye on the floor with a grunt barrel.

About halfway around the ledge, you will see a dark recessed area with two small pillars beneath the barrel's floor. A vort is hiding to the right of the right pillar. Sneak-shoot it with hornets or the crossbow before it sees you. Use your flashlight to watch it, as it may move onto the ledge or the barrel floor. Finish it off with hornets or the .357.

Enter the dark recessed area to find a ramp leading up to the grunt barrel's floor.

On the grunt barrel's floor, be aware of a vort on the next spinny lift and two vorts on the walkway above.

One of the two vorts above may be next to the grunt barrel near the top of the lowest spinny lift. Jump up and down to get a clear shot with the hornet gun. The second vort above may be near a barrel at the top of the second spinny lift.
