Learn to use SimCity 2000's Bulldozer Tools: Demolish, Level Terrain, Raise Terrain, Lower Terrain, and De-Zone. Master city shaping and cleanup for efficient urban planning.

The Bulldozer Tools in SimCity 2000 offer a comprehensive suite for modifying your city's landscape and structures. These tools allow for demolition, terrain manipulation, and zoning adjustments, all at a cost per tile.

Demolish/Clear

This function allows you to remove man-made objects (excluding military buildings), trees, artificial ponds/lakes, and rubble. It costs $1 per tile. Be aware that bulldozing forests may upset your Sims.

Level Terrain

Use this tool to select a tile and then click and hold to make surrounding tiles match its elevation. This can be costly as each pointer movement can affect many tiles. Destroying terrain with buildings or trees on it will also destroy those elements. For extensive landscaping, consider using the Terrain Editor beforehand to save money. Cost: $25 per tile.

Raise Terrain

This tool increases the elevation of a selected tile by one level (100 ft) up to a maximum of approximately 3050 ft. Surrounding tiles adjust to create a smooth slope. Holding the mouse button allows for rapid mountain creation. Cost: $25 per tile.

Lower Terrain

This tool decreases terrain elevation by one level at a time, typically to a minimum of 50 ft. Lowering terrain below sea level can create bodies of fresh or salt water. This can be used for canals or waterways. Cost: $25 per tile.

De-Zone

This feature removes zoning from an area. It's useful for correcting zoning mistakes or for quick rubble clean-up. By zoning and then de-zoning a single tile in the affected area, you can clear rubble efficiently for a lower cost ($6 for a low-density tile and de-zoning) compared to using the bulldozer ($1 per tile for rubble removal).
