The Ordinances Window in SimCity 2000 provides a comprehensive overview of all available ordinances. It shows which ordinances you have enacted, their associated costs or profits, the total year-to-date (YTD) cost/profit, and the estimated total year-end cost/profit. There are five distinct kinds of ordinances available.
Warning: Be cautious not to enact more ordinances than your city's finances can support. If you need to reduce city services to avoid financial losses (staying out of the red), deselect the most expensive ordinances first.

The profit/cost figures for each ordinance are approximate guidelines derived from extensive testing. These figures were determined by running three test cities and comparing ordinance costs against residential, commercial, industrial, and total populations over approximately two hours. While not exact in-game values, they serve as serviceable indicators, often representing profit/cost per 1,000 relevant Sims.
