Alright, let's talk about Missile Silos in SimCity 2000. These are pretty unique military bases – instead of one big chunk of land, you'll find about six of them scattered around your city. They don't offer any special emergency services like other bases, but fair warning, they do contribute to pollution and can bump up criminal activity. You won't see them popping up as rewards very often, which might make you feel a bit attached to them when they do appear. Plus, you gotta admit, they look pretty cool!

A Note on Air Force Bases: Sometimes, there's a weird glitch where an Air Force base doesn't build correctly, leaving you with just a single runway instead of the whole thing. If this happens, the best workaround I've found is to save your city before you hit 60,000 population. If the glitch occurs, just reload your saved game. If you ever decide you want to get rid of a Missile Silo, you'll find the usual demolition tools won't cut it. Your best bet is to use the 'Lower Terrain' tool right next to the silo to get rid of it.
