Master Sonic the Hedgehog 2 controls: learn to move, jump, spin dash, and use character-specific abilities like Tails' flight and Knuckles' glide.

Common Controls:

1. Move left/right: Press Left/Right. Hold Left/Right to speed up.
2. Look down/Crouch: Press Down while standing still.
3. Look up: Press Up while standing still.
4. Rolling Spin Attack: Press Down while moving.
5. Jump/Spin Attack: Press A, B or C.
6. Spin Dash: While crouching, press A, B or C to rev up. Let go of Down to take off like a rocket.
7. Pause/Resume: Press Start.

Sonic's Controls:

• Insta-Shield: Press A, B or C quickly, once to jump and again to generate enough energy to protect Sonic with a shield for a split second.

Tails' Controls:

• Fly/Swim: Press A, B or C quickly, once to jump and again to start flying/swimming for a short time.

Knuckles' Controls:

• Glide: Press A, B or C quickly, once to jump and again to start gliding. Use the +Control Pad for direction.
• Wall Climb: Press A, B or C quickly at a wall, once to jump and again to grab onto it. Press Up/Down to climb or A, B or C to jump off.
