Alright, let's go grab that first Giant Ring in Flying Battery Zone! It's pretty straightforward, but there are a few tricky spots, so stick with me.

You'll start off heading right. Just go through the first purple cylinder you see.

After that, drop down the platform and head left. You'll need to carefully navigate past some flame blasters – don't get too close!

Keep heading right. You'll find yourself outside the main part of the Flying Battery. Hop across the series of platforms and use the levers you find to progress.

Jump up onto the ledge and head upwards to get back inside the Blimp.

Once inside, go past the Starpost. You'll then make your way through more of those purple cylinders.

Here's a bit of a tricky part: you'll need to Spin Dash up a slope. Get Sonic positioned on the flame blaster at the top.

This flame blaster will launch you upwards. Once you land, head right and use the moving platforms to reach another flame blaster.

Heads up! If you open that Prison Egg nearby, Badniks will pop out. Keep an eye on it, but don't worry too much unless you accidentally trigger it.

Use the flame blaster you just reached to go upwards again.

Carefully go past some mines – they're just floating there, so give them a wide berth. Then, use the poles to swing across.

Drop down and head left. You'll see a speed boost; jump right over it. Keep going past more mines.

Now, drop down the platform and head right. You'll see some platforms that rise and fall. Wait for them to come up so you don't get crushed!

You'll reach another Starpost. Go past it and press the switch.

Drop down again and head left. You'll find some more slopes to Spin Dash up.

Jump onto the Prison Egg itself. As you run through the next set of purple cylinders, you'll stop on a ledge that immediately starts to collapse.

Quickly! Before that ledge gives way, proceed left. You'll see some flipping platforms above you. Use these to go up.

Head past another flame blaster. Nearby, you'll see some spikes. Move these spikes to reveal a hidden hole.

Drop down that hole, and congratulations! You've found a secret passageway containing the Giant Ring.

Tips

The Spin Dash is your best friend for getting up those slopes quickly. Make sure you have enough momentum!
Pay close attention to the timing of the rising platforms to avoid getting squished.
Don't be afraid to use the poles to swing across gaps; it's often safer than trying to make a long jump.
