This is where things get serious, as you'll face off against Mecha Sonic, who Robotnik sent to stop you. This guy will battle you a total of three times throughout the level. The first two fights are basically rematches of the bosses from Green Hill Zone in Sonic 1 and Metropolis Zone in Sonic 2.
