Guide to navigating the Dark Realm in The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks. Learn how to defeat Armored Trains and the Demon Train boss with strategies and tips.
Walkthrough
- 1Navigate the Dark Realm, which contains Spirit Tracks patrolled by six Armored Trains.
- 2Tears of Light are scattered around the Tracks. Driving over one grants invulnerability and a speed boost for about 20 seconds, during which you can blow your whistle to go super fast.
- 3Use the Tears of Light to destroy the Armored Trains. They respawn.
- 4Destroying more Armored Trains increases your train's general speed.
- 5In the northeast section, there are two Armored Trains and one Tear of Light. Wait just beyond their patrol area (south side is good) and head for the Tear of Light when they turn north. Reverse and ram them once you have the Tear's power.
- 6To reach the Armored Train in the northwest, take the middle portal to the east. Use the Tear of Light found on the secluded Track immediately to destroy the Armored Train before the power wears off.
- 7After defeating the Armored Trains, you will face the Demon Train boss.
BOSS: Demon Train
The Demon Train battle takes place on four Tracks; the Demon Train occupies two. Watch for dark fires on the track and switch Tracks when necessary. The objective is to destroy each section of the Demon Train before it escapes, in phases.
- Phase 1 (Cargo Car): The cargo car drops exploding barrels. Destroy them by shooting them while they are being launched. To damage the car, shoot the barrels as they are launched. If the Demon Train yells, immediately reverse to slow down significantly and dodge its track-switching ram attempt. Switch Tracks to avoid hitting it.
- Phase 2 (Laser Cannons): Get even with the Demon Train and shoot the laser guns to damage them. Each gun requires two shots. Watch for dark fires and track changes.
- Phase 3 (More Lasers): Hit the pegs that fire lasers from the car. Once all pegs are destroyed, the Demon Train slows down and moves behind you. Fire at its face until it switches tracks. Get behind it quickly and repeat. When the lasers are gone again and the Demon Train gets behind you, it will switch tracks to be directly behind you and slowly catch up.
Tips
- The more Armored Trains you destroy, the faster your train will be in general.
- When facing Armored Trains in the northeast, wait beyond their patrol area (south side is good) and grab the Tear of Light when they turn north. Reverse and ram them.
- To reach the northwest Armored Train, use the middle portal to the east and immediately use the Tear of Light to destroy it.
- During the Demon Train fight, if it yells, reverse to slow down and dodge its ramming attempt.
- In Phase 3 of the Demon Train fight, once the lasers are gone and it gets behind you, it will switch tracks to be directly behind you and slowly catch up.
