First off, you'll know a shooting star event is happening because Isabelle will announce it during the morning broadcast. It's your cue to get ready for some sky-gazing!

Celeste's Visits

Celeste, Blathers' sister, is your go-to owl for all things spacey. She usually shows up on your island about once or twice a month, often during a shooting star event, but not always. When she's around, she'll appear in the afternoon and stick around until late at night, just enjoying the view. While she's visiting, she'll always give you a DIY recipe. Wishing on Stars

Now, for the main event: wishing on shooting stars! On nights with an event, you'll see quite a few stars streaking across the sky every minute. You can get shooting stars on regular nights too, but they're much rarer. Keep an ear out for a distinct twinkling sound and look up for a bright flash in the sky. To get the best view, angle your camera upwards using the right analog stick. When you spot a star and hear that twinkle, quickly press the A button. Your character will do a little praying pose, and voilà – you've made a wish!

Star Fragments

The magic doesn't stop there! The day after you wish on a star, you'll find star fragments washed up on your beaches. Keep an eye out for three types: regular Star Fragments, Large Star Fragments, and Zodiac Fragments. The Zodiac Fragments you find depend on the current time of year, as they correspond to the zodiac signs. You can then use these fragments to craft those awesome zodiac DIY recipes Celeste gives you.
