Learn how to complete the 'When Knight Falls' quest in Dragon Quest XI S: Echoes of an Elusive Age. Guide includes Arise Pep Power strategy and location.

Alright, so you've just finished up with Sylvando's dad in Puerto Valor during Act II. Before you jet off, there's a little something you can do right in town. Head back to the entrance of Puerto Valor, and you'll find an old man hanging around. He's got a favor to ask, and if you help him out, you'll snag a pretty neat shield!

Walkthrough
  1. 1
Speak to the old man: First things first, make your way to the entrance of Puerto Valor. Look for an old gentleman there and chat with him. He'll give you the lowdown: you need to go to the Eerie Eyrie and take down a specific enemy, a Knight Aberrant, but there's a catch – you have to do it while a special Pep Power called 'Arise' is active.
  2. 2
Prepare for the challenge: Now, this quest has a bit of a trick to it. The 'Arise' Pep Power requires three specific party members to be Pepped Up simultaneously: the Hero, Sylvando, and Hendrick. Getting all three Pepped Up at the right time can be tricky, especially if you're still in the early stages of Act II. The guide suggests waiting until you have more party members. This is a great tip because it allows you to swap characters in and out. If someone's Pep wears off, you can bring in a fresh, Pepped-Up party member.
  3. 3
Head to the Eerie Eyrie: Once you feel ready, make your way to the Eerie Eyrie. This is where you'll find the Knight Aberrant you need to defeat.
  4. 4
Activate 'Arise' and defeat the Knight Aberrant: This is the crucial part. You need to get the Hero, Sylvando, and Hendrick Pepped Up. Once they are, use the 'Arise' Pep Power. Immediately after, engage and defeat the Knight Aberrant. Don't defeat it *before* using 'Arise', or it won't count!
  5. 5
Return to the old man: After you've successfully defeated the Knight Aberrant under the 'Arise' effect, head back to Puerto Valor and report your success to the old man you spoke to at the beginning.
Tips
  • The 'Arise' Pep Power is key here. It requires the Hero, Sylvando, and Hendrick to all be Pepped Up at the same time.
  • It's highly recommended to wait until you have more than four party members. This makes it much easier to manage who is Pepped Up and swap them in when needed.
  • Don't defeat the Knight Aberrant before activating 'Arise'. The timing is important!
  • Metal Slime Shield
